II. EVALUATION

Instructions: Read the question carefully and construct a paragraph sentence to support your answer.

1. Explain the three models for the relationship between science and development based from the
diagram below. Which do you think is a better model to suggest for the improvement of our
country’s development for science and technology? (10 points)

For me I think the best model to improve our country’s development for science and technology is
the Model A. We are able to improve the development of our country if the pure research,
technological, development and production and market are all balance. Pure research giving us
insights and ideas, Technological development helps us to develop, create and improve technologies
and the production market able us to earn profit and income. So if these three are equal just like un
the model A, we are able to improve the development of our science and technology.

2. What do you say about the concept in technology which is “A means to an end or an end in
itself”? (10 points)

Technology is infiltrating almost every aspect of our lives. It has become such an integral part of our
lives, most of us have come to expect it to be this way, or we have not known any other way. Over time,
many things that were once done by hand or in person have come to be managed through the use of
technology of one form or another.

While many of these advances have indeed made our lives better – print, electricity, airplanes, and
untold numbers of gadgets, to name a few, I’m increasingly concerned about the unforeseen negative
impact of communication technologies (com techs) on relationships and what makes us uniquely human.
We are so addicted to a technology that we end up forgetting being human. We are into social media but
we forget how to interact personally to the people around us. Technology is not a bad thing but
sometimes we are too abusive. We should be the one controlling technologies and not the other way.
