NARRATIVE REPORT
CLUSTER-BASED SPEECH FESTIVAL
School Year 2010-2011

“Achieving the MDG’s by 2015 through Speech Arts,” was the theme of the
Cluster-Based SPEECH FESTIVAL, an activity in English which was attended by five
students and five coaches from Sta. Irene National High School last November 10,
2010 held at Datu Lipus Makapandong National High School, Rosario, Agusan del
Sur. It was participated by 14 secondary schools which comprises Cluster II.

Sta. Irene National High School had four delegates for spelling namely:
Kimberly Jean Tizon, Novah Leah Bulandres, Perlyn Sanchez and Johna Lou
Bulandres. The said students were coached by Ms. Aprilyn Joy C. Arroyo and Mrs.
Bernadette C. Villagracia. For the Smart Talking event, Arcializa Gica was coached
by Ms. Janice Maureal, Mrs. Jovita Hingpit and MRs. Gelody Elumba.

Among the 60 spellers who competed for spelling, Kimberly Jean Tizon was
ranked 5th place. Then Arcializa Gica got the 7 th rank out of ten participants for Smart
Talking.

Joining such competition always gave the participants an idea to “better do

exposure and learn something from it because it may give you chance to reach the
top.” This means a lot of things to all of us who have attended such speech festival.

Speech Festival is such a meaningful activity for all the students and teachers
to be more appreciative, to be more competent in speech arts, and to be more loving
and friendly in all activities. Thus, we say much fun and experience we wish to have
for the next or coming speech festival.
