Introduction:
The chosen community to be organized is Purok Waling-Waling, Barangay Bulaklakan which is one of the geographically
isolated Barangay and is considered to be a disadvantaged area in Bacolod City. The barangay has a total population of 510, that
involves 100 families, each with different profiles. Upon entering the barangay, the facilitators assessed the community and had
recognized 4 different problems experienced by the community people. The problems are, half of the population of the children and
teenagers in the barangay are malnourished, the other problem is there waste segregation, there means in terms of their source of
income, and half of the total population of the barangay have vulnerable members of the society such as the elderlies that are
prone to certain diseases. These problems will be addressed through community organizing, and facilitators will come up with a
distinct plan through activities in each problem that had been recognized. The facilitators will integrate into the community through
living with the community people, to better understand and guide the people well until they are independent enough to build their
community.
