NSTP COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM
PROJECT PROPOSAL
TEAM: GROUP 2 – HOPE (Holding Onto Positive Expectation)
PROPOSED PROJECT: HYGIENE LITERACY AND FEEDING
LOCATION OF THE PROJECT: Barangay Herrero Perez, Dagupan City, Pangasinan
NEEDS ASSESSMENT SUMMARY:
According to National Health Institute In this study, almost 75% of the primary school
children were suffering from one or more morbidities related to poor personal hygiene.
And based on what we observed in that Barangay and the thought of their Barangay
Kagawad they gave us the project that fit in our materials. And because our target is
children in that Barangay, we also need to teach them what proper hygiene is, like
hand washing, proper exercise every day, always eat nutritious foods, so on and so
forth especially now that we are facing pandemic, so let's get in the habit of following
what is best to our health and to avoid any diseases or viruses. Poor personal hygiene
arises from either intentional or unintentional neglect of your body’s cleanliness and
health requirements. Your body begins to look unhealthy, you experience unwanted
health concerns, and your overall well-being is affected. Your child needs to keep
themselves clean to remain healthy and to feel good about themselves. Good personal
hygiene will help boost their self-esteem and confidence

EVALUATION:
Feeding Program, this outreach program's main objective is to ensure that
hungry kids receive the required nutrition. Through this program, malnourished kids
receive highly nutritious food to help them develop into healthy, strong humans. It
also motivates boosting local economic development. Hygiene Literacy, this outreach
programs main goal is to increase children's knowledge of positive health behaviors,
enhance wellness, and educate children and their caregivers on how to prevent
common health problems by developing proper hand washing skills. In Conclusion,
keeping good personal hygiene will also help protect you from transferring infections to
other individuals. A person's chance of contracting diseases and illnesses typically
spread by viruses and bacteria is reduced by practicing good hygiene. Under this
program, underweight children are brought up to their healthy weight. Additionally, it
educates children that eating healthy promotes not only a healthy body and lower risk
of disease, but has also been shown to support mental development and academic
success.
