Achievements in two years

A. Policy Level:

1. Free water, upto 20 kiloliters a month (about 700 liters a day)

provided to the citizens of Delhi w.e.f. 1st March 2015.This has
benefited around 10 lacs consumers including residents of co-
operative group housing societies.
2. Water Tariff has not been increased for the last two years.
3. Major relief given to the residents of unauthorized colonies by
reducing Water development charges in unauthorized colonies
from Rs 440/sq meter to Rs 100/sq meter.
4. Another big relief provided to residents of unauthorized colonies
by reducing sewer development charges from Rs. 494/sq meter to
Rs. 100/sq meter (reduction of 80%).
5. Water Infrastructure charges have been exempted for commercial
plots for “Ease of doing business”
6. Water and sewer development charges have been fixed Rs 4500/-
for plots 50 Sq.m & Rs. 1 lac for plot> 50 Sqm.for commercial plots
to promote business.
7. Cashless bill collection started at all collection counters by
providing POS apart from online bill payment through RMS.

8. Empanelment of 9 manufactures of domestic water meters of IP-68
Specification has been done to enable people to purchase the water
meters of their own choice from market. New meters will be water
and dust proof with 5 years guarantee.
9. Regulations passed by DJB for disposal of septic tank wastes
through licensed vendors. This will ensure disposal of this waste
into the drains and prevent pollution in river Yamuna.
10. 100% old arrear of water bill is to waived off for the consumers in
E,F,G&H Category colonies.
11. 75% old arrear of water bill is to be waived off for consumers in
C&D category colonies
12. 50% old arrear of water bill is to be waived off for the consumers
in “B” Category colonies.
13. 25% old arrear of water bill is to be waived off for the consumers
in “A” Category colonies.
14. Relief to the residents of unauthorized colonies by extending the
scheme of reduced Water development charges in unauthorized
colonies from Rs 440/sq meter to Rs 100/sq meter up to April
2017.
15. Relief to residents of unauthorized colonies by extending the
scheme of reduced sewer development charges from Rs. 494/sq
meter to Rs. 100/sq meter (reduction of 80%) up to April 2017
16. Liberalized scheme launched for regularization of unauthorized
water connections. Earlier citizens were charged around Rs.14000
to regularize a water connection which has now been reduced to
Rs.3310/-

17. Mixed –use category abolished and tariff has been rationalized
w.e.f. 14-08-2015. Tariff of commercial category also rationalized
by adding slabs at lower tariff level.
18. Commercial establishment having non-intensive use of water to be
categorized as domestic.
19. The design of Rain Water Harvesting has been simplified by
removing bore well recharge system and giving liberty for
selecting size of Rain water harvesting pit depending upon the
surface area available.
20. The maintenance of the recharge pit has been simplified by
adopting layer of Jute/blanket of any other material.
21. Three Rain Centers have been established at R.K. Puram, Jalvihar
and Dwarka for providing free technical know how about setting
up of the Rain water harvesting system.
22. N.G.Os have been deployed at all Rain Centers who are stationed
there and providing all technical support to the residents for RWH.
23. The water and sewer connection allowed in Basement also.
24. Exemption of Rain Water Harvesting has been given on those areas
where water table is already high i.e. below 5 meters.
25. The date for setting up RWH in plots more than 500 Sq. m has been
extended upto March 2017
26. Awareness about RWH is being generated among the people.
27. Master Plan 2021 has been prepared and submitted to Delhi Jal
Board for acceptance.
28. Water policy for Delhi has been prepared, deliberated among all
stakeholders and placed before the Board for acceptance.
29. 93 Water bodies are being taken over from Revenue department
for rejuvenation and development.

30. Policy for providing individual connections to all Jhuggi dwellers
has been cleared by the Board and submitted to the Delhi Cabinet
for the approval.
31. The limit of 6 water connections in one premise has been increased
to 10.
32. The procedure of getting water and sewer connection is being
simplified.
33. Online application facility for obtaining water/sewer connections
and mutations etc.
34. The policy for using ground water is being prepared.
35. Strengthening of water and sewerage planning has been done.
36. The experts in the field of land scapping, urban designing, GIS,
sewerage and Hydraulic modeling have been deployed.
37. Leak Detection Cell shall be strengthened shortly to detect the
hidden leakages and reduce Non Revenue Water.
38. Android based Mobile App in January, 2016 for self bill
generations, bill payment through E-Banking, Credit & Debit Card
& Grievance/redressal System.
39. C.C.T.V Cameras installations in ZRO Office.

B. Water Sector:

40. 50 MGD Capacity Dwarka Water Treatment Plant (constructed in

2011) commissioned on 1st March 2015 benefitting about 13.5 lakh
residents of Dwarka sub city, Najafgarh, Daulatpur, Ujwa, and
adjoining areas.
41. 20 MGD capacity Bawana Water Treatment Plant, constructed in
2002, commissioned on 21st April 2015, benefiting about 6 lacs

residents of rural villages Bawana, Narela, Sannothand adjoining
area.
42. The production of water at Okhla Water Treatment increased from
7 mgd to 20 mgd with raw water from Wazirabad.
43. 27 ML capacity Bawana UGR commissioned on 21st April 2015,
benefiting about 2 lakh people under its command.
44. 5.8 ML capacity Narela UGR & Booster Pumping Station
commissioned on 25th May 2016 benefitting the colonies in its
command. Around 15000 people were benefitted.
45. Shalimar Park UGR and Booster Pumping Station of 7 ML capacity
commissioned on 18th February 2015 benefiting about 70,000
residents of Shalimar Park & Old Shahdara.
46. 15.5 mg capacity UGR & BPS at Janakpuri was commissioned on 1st
March 2015 benefiting around 30000 persons.
47. UGR & Booster Pumping Station at Sector-7 Rohini has been
commissioned in the month of July 2016 improving water supply
in Rohini Phase-I.
48. UGR & BPS at Karala is almost complete and likely to be
commissioned shortly benefitting around 50000 persons in its
command area.
49. Construction of 7.70 ML capacity UGR & BPS at Mangolpuri Y-
Block. along with P/L/J Peripheral water mains under its
command and P/L 600 mm dia feeder main is likely to be
commissioned shortly benefitting around 20000 persons.
50. The work of construction of 19.5 ML Capacity UGR & BPS at
Mundka has been started and to be completed within 18 months
thus improving water supply in rural areas rural areas.

51. The work of construction of 19.5 ML Capacity UGR & BPS at
Najafgarh-B has been started and to be completed within 18
months thus improving water supply in rural areas rural areas.
52. The work of construction of UGR & BPS at Chhattarpur Enclave-I is
likely to be completed in Feb 2017.
53. The UGR & BPS at MangolpurKalan is likely to be completed by
March 2017 for improvement of water supply in this area
benefitting around 5000 people.
54. The work of construction of UGR and BPS at Mahipalpur has been
taken up and shall be completed within one year.
55. The work of construction of Soniavihar-II UGR & BPS is going to be
awarded shortly.
56. The scheme of construction of 12.25 ML Capacity UGR & BPS at
Siraspur village has been prepared. Land for UGR has been taken
over.
57. The scheme of construction of 12.20 ML Capacity UGR & BPS at
Mayapuri has been awarded and likely to be started soon.
58. The scheme of construction of 30 ML Capacity UGR & BPS at
Harshvihar has been approved by the Board which is under tender.
59. The scheme of construction of 9.1 ML Capacity UGR & BPS at
Rajokari has been prepared.
60. The scheme of construction of 5.8 ML Capacity UGR & BPS at
Bijwasan has been prepared.
61. The Strengthening /Rehabilitation of existing 6 MGD WTP Okhla &
Construction of two new WTP of 4 MGD each shall be taken up.
Scheme has been approved by the Board. This plant will treat high
ammonia through O-Zone treatment.

62. Filtered water supply extended to villages & unauthorized colonies
in the command of Bawana WTP in place of ground water in April
2016. These villages and colonies are: Bawana, Daryapur,
NangalThakran, BajidpurTharan, Katewra, Auchandi, Harevali,
PanjabKhor, JatKhor, KutubGarh, Sultan PurDabas, MajraDabas,
Chand PurKhurd, Chand PurDabas, Poothkhurd, Ghoga Village,
Ghoga U/A colony, Ghoga Dairy, Lam Pur, Sannoth, Vishal Enclave
and Bankner.
63. Water supply extended to Bawana Industrial area in the month of
May 2016.
64. The scheme of Renovation of Wazirabad Head Works is under
process of tender.
65. South Delhi Rising Main of Pre stress pipes is being replaced by MS
lines and coated pipes to reduce the leakages. The flow and
pressure meters are also being installed to measure the flow and
pressure.
66. The project of replacement of existing three rising mains
emanating from Bhagirathi WTP with single unified mains has
been taken up which in under tender.
67. The scheme for providing water facility in 38 colonies of
SangamVihar has been approved by the Board which is waiting for
the NOC from the Govt..
68. The water supply in Shahbad Mohammadpur has been improved
by extending water line from CT-5 Dwarka benefitting around
10000 people.
69. The work of augmenting water supply from Palla tubewells &
Ranney wells is under progress, which will increase around 15
mgd of water.

70. Implementation of SCADA system on 100 tube wells and 5 Ranney
wells has been taken up which will phase out outsourced
manpower.
71. DJB took over water and sewer services of Dwarka Sub City from
DDA and is working on improvement of these services.
72. By taking over services of Dwarka from DDA, residents of Dwarka
have already been benefitted by way of improved services and
lower tariff.
73. Command tank no. 3 of Dwarka Sub-City taken over from DDA and
was made operational at its full capacity benefitting more that 1
lakh people under its command.
74. Water supply at Command Tanks-2 & 4 taken over from
DDA.Supply was augmented from 5 MGD to 17 MGD benefitting
Dwarka Sub City: Sector-11(part), 19, 20, 22, 23, Airport & other
areas, village &Pochampur village etc.
75. Command Tank No.1 of Dwarkarehabilitated and made operational
to extend water supply in Dwarka Sub City: Sector 1, 1A
i/cNasirpur isolated pockets, 7, 8 & 9 and other areas i.e. Palam,
Mahendra Enclave Part-1, Nasirpur Village, Rajnagar-I &II.This will
augment the water supply by 10 MGD and will benefit lakhs of
people.
76. Dependency of residents of Dwarka Sub City on tankershas been
completely finished.
77. 125 tube wells in Dwarka have been closed after improvement of
water supply
78. 72 Water tankers in Dwraka Sub city have been phased out after
improvement of water supply.

79. Water Supply in Vijay Vihar –II released in November 2016
benefitting around 40000 people and relieving around 10 water
tankers from the area.
80. Piped water supply extended to Mahavir Nagar, Krishna Park &
Ganesh Nagar in Tilak Nagar. This has benefitted around 60000
people of this area.
81. 146 Nos. of Tube wells commissioned /re-bored in South, South-
West & West districts for improvement of water supply.
82. 633 Kilometers of new water pipelines laid during this period.
83. 311 Kilometers of old and rusted water line replaced to improve
water supply and avoid contamination.
84. 250 new departmental stainless water tankers in addition to hired
407 stainless steel tankers and 300 MS Tankers, have been
deployed in water deficient areas.
85. Water ATMs installed in water deficit areas of Narela,
ShahbadDaulatpur, Holambi&Dwarka.
86. Work of installation of additional 380 ATMs is under progress.
87. Hundreds of modern Piaos (water dispensers) will be installed in
public places for providing free drinking water.These pios are
being arranged against CSR funds.
88. New laboratory set up in Dwarkaduring March 2015 for checking
quality of drinking water being supplied from Dwarka WTP.
89. New Laboratory set up in Bawanain April 2015 to check quality of
raw water supplied.
90. All labs will be NABL accredited.
91. 5 additional labs have been proposed to increase sampling of
water supply.

92. Action plan prepared for entire Delhi to deal with problem of water
contamination.
93. Old water tankers more than 15 years of age have been phased out.
94. To supplement water supply, use of treated effluent for non
drinking purposes i.e. irrigation, horticulture, flushing and cooling
etc. encouraged. New plan scheme prepared to create trunk
network for utilizing treated effluent of 36 STPs.
95. Project of Rs.2000 crores finalized to improve entire command
area of Chandrawal Water treatment plant i.e. construction of new
WTP of 105 MGD, strengthened and replacement of old peripheral
mains, water auditing, reducing non revenue water and
implementing SCADA from production to consumers’ end.
96. Tenders for construction of new 105 mgd capacity at Chandrawal
have been invited.
97. The consultant has been appointed for project to improve entire
command area of Wazirabad Water treatment plant i.e.
construction of new WTP of 135 MGD, strengthening and
replacement of old peripheral mains, water auditing, reducing non
revenue water and implementing SCADA from production to
consumers’ end.
98. Project for phasing out old leaking concrete water mains with Mild
steel water pipes coated with cement lining inside and bituminous
coating outside has been initiated to reduce water loss through
leakages.
99. Delhi Jal Board was awarded by Water Digestfor best water
management through water ATMs in water deficit areas in 2015.

100. Through concerted efforts, water production increased from 835
MGD to 900 MGD improving water supply in different parts of
Delhi.
101. Special drive launched for detection of hidden and surface
leakages. 6200 leakages identified and plugged saving lakhs of
liters of water.
102. 96 District Meter Areas (DMA) have been formed in different parts
of Delhi for water audit at Micro Level and further reduction of
NRW.
103. Bulk flow meters will be fixed on all tapings of Rising mains for
water audit at Macro Level.
104. Water supply in 10 colonies (Maidan Gahi, Andheria Mod, Dr.
Amedkar colony and its adjoining colonies) released in the month
of May, 2015
105. Water supply in 6 colonies released in the month of June, 2015

121. The estimates of providing water supply in 23 colonies have been
prepared and tenders shall be invited shortly.
122. All Katras previously under DUSIB or Delhi Municipal Corporations
have been taken up for better maintenance of water supply and
sewerage system.
123. 24 slum squatters developed by DUSIB have been taken over for
providing water and sewerage facilities and further maintenance.
124. The proposal of taking over all 685 JJ Clusters and providing
individual water connections in each Jhuggis as per technical
feasibility has been submitted before the Delhi Govt.
125. The scheme of development of Supplementary drain & its
surrounding areas and cleaning its water is being prepared for
connecting people with water bodies.
126. The consultant for cleaning and development of Supplementary
drain in 8 Km has been appointed
127. The scheme of construction of 8 mgd capacity new Water
Treatment Plant of State of Art Technology (Ozone Treatment

+Carbon filtration) at Okhla has been approved which will tackle
high Ammonia in the raw water.
128. The scheme of isolating Wazirabad Pond from Head works at
Wazirabad Water Treatment Plant has been executed to avoid
pollution in raw water and stopping plants frequently due to high
Ammonia.
129. Online quality monitoring of raw water is being taken up.
130. The camera surveillance is being taken up at all Water Treatment
Plants
131. The entire 1500 mm dia treated effluent main from Okhla STP up
to Indraprastha Estate has been replaced to add more recycled
water in NDMC areas.
132. The water line for carrying recycled water from Okhla effluent
main has been laid and connections for using recycled water have
been released to nearby Institutions and Hospital.
133. The recycled water line has been laid for supplying treated effluent
from Okhla STP to Okhla Bus depot and Green areas of DDA.
134. A pilot Plant of 4000 Liters per hour capacity has been
commissioned at Keshopur STP which produces water of drinking
quality.
135. The recycled water from this plant is being used for flushing,
washing and Horticulture purposes at DJB quarters and
administrative building at Keshopur STP.
136. Six colonies have been shortlisted for implementing Jan Jal
Prabandhan Yojna (JJPY) through which, the water, sewer &
recycled water lines shall be laid. The sewage collected from the
colony shall be treated by the decentralized STP constructed at this
colony and recycled water shall be used in this colony for non

drinking purposes. Surplus recycled water will be discharged to
nearby water body.
137. Old hired tankers are being phased out as soon as the water supply
is being extended in unauthorized colonies.
138. Water Supply network of about 32 Km has been released in A to I
block Saroopnagar(North Delhi) on 23.01.2016 benefitting around
75000 people.
139. Water supply released in six unauthorized colonies of Chhattarpur
Constituency benefitting around 30000 people.
140. The work of distribution line from Delhi Cantt. To Mahipalpur
village is likely to be completed which will improve water supply in
Mahipalpur and its adjoining areas.
141. After commissioning of Triplicate and Kirlokari rising mains, the
water supply in walled city area has been improved a lot.
142. The tenders for bottling plant are being invited for producing 200,
500, 1000 & 1500 ml bottles and Jar of 20 Liters.
143. Space for installation of Mobile Towers has been auctioned
generating revenue.
144. Power factor has been maintained more than 0.95 saving a lot of
power loss at all installations.
145. Tenders are being invited for rehabilitation of Haiderpur Water
Treatment Plant with energy efficient pumps on PPP model for
reduction in Power consumption.
146. Ranney well No. W1&W2 which are lying abandoned for the last 8
years are being revived which will add around 4-5 mgd of water in
North East Delhi.

147. Ranney wells at P&V series are being redeveloped for
augmentation of their yield adding around 6-7 mgd of water in
South Delhi
148. The Duplicate main will be strengthened to take around additional
4-5 mgd water from Wazirabad WTP to GK-I Reservoir, which will
benefit South Delhi water supply.
149. An artificial water body is being created to recharge the ground
water with tertiary treated water at Pappankalan STP.
150. This water body will also be opened to the public for recreation.
151. Timarpur Oxidation Pond will be developed for creating water
body and recharge ground water. This water body will also be
opened to the public for recreation.
152. The work of laying Peripheral water line Network for Karawal
Nagar and Mustafabad Assembly Constituencies in the Command
area of 26.80 ML (5.90 MG) Sonia Vihar UGR/BPS has been
awarded and taken up shortly.
153. The scheme of automation of all Primary UGR&BPS is being taken
up.
154. The water network modeling in some of the critical catchment has
been taken up.
155. The large-scale leakage management is being taken up to reduce
water losses through leakages and reduce contamination.
156. Intensive survey has been carried out to find out water
connections passing through drains/sewers and older than 10
years. Around 2.75 lacs such water connections have been found
out.
157. The proposal for replacement of all such connections has been
prepared and shall be placed before the Board.

158. The intensive survey is being conducted “ Walk the Line” is all
around Delhi to know the existing Water Infrastructure

C. Yamuna Cleaning:

159. The project of Interceptor sewer for reduction of pollution in River

Yamuna has been selected as one of the 100 global most
prestigious projects.
160. Progress of the project of Interceptor Sewer has been achieved as
85%.
161. Package-1 of Interceptor Sewer and part of Package-2, 3 & 4 have
been commissioned diverting thereby 80-90MGD of sewage from
drains to Sewage Treatment Plants which will reduce pollution
level in River Yamuna.
162. 15 MGD capacity Sewage Treatment Plant at the mouth of Delhi
Gate drain has been commissioned. It treats all the sewage coming
from walled city area and treated effluent of good quality i.e.
BOD<10 & SS<10ppm is being discharged into River Yamuna this
reducing pollution.
163. Three drains Magazine Road, Sweepers Colony & Khyber Pass
drains, directly out falling into river Yamuna, have been trapped
into existing pump house at Arunanagar and being pumped to Bela
Road trunk sewers.
164. Metcalf House drain has been trapped into Bela Road Sewer.
165. Drain No. 14 has been trapped into Ring Road Trunk sewer
reducing some pollution load in River Yamuna.
166. Around 20 mgd sewage has been trapped from Barapula drain in
to Andrews Ganj and Maharani Bagh SPS.

167. The tenders for trapping all wastewater falling in Najafgarh and
Supplementary drain have been invited. It comprises of setting up
14 STPs, 3 SPSs, trunk sewer and related projects.
168. The consultancy of Rejuvenation, cleaning and development of
Barapulla drain from Mukarba Chowk in a length of 8.5 Km has
been awarded to an International consultant (Israel).
169. Developed Arti Ghat on River Yamuna Bank where daily Yamuna
Arti is being conducted.

D. Sewerage Sector:

170. DJB finalized its sewerage master plan (SMP) for Delhi in March
2015 to provide sewerage facilities in remaining unsewered areas
of Delhi at estimated cost of Rs. 19500 Cr.
171. Execution of first phase of the SMP is in progress. Under the plan
9800 KM new sewer lines and 75 sewerage treatment plants and
allied works are proposed to be undertaken in four phases.
172. About 350 Kms new sewer pipe lines were laid to provide internal
sewerage facilities in 33 unauthorized colonies.
173. In East Delhi 07 u/a colonies namely - Sapera Basti, Village Gharoli
Extn. A-Block Harijan Basti, Gharoli Extn. Block-C Harijan Basti,
North A-Block Vinod Nagar, D-Block West Vinod Nagar, F-Block
West Vinod Nagar, Chander Vihar Mandawali Fazalpur have been
benefitted by internal sewerage facilities.
174. In West Delhi 06 u/a colonies namely – Janki Puri, Keso Ram Park,
Bhagwati Garden Extn., Jai Bharat Enclave in Uttam Nagar
Constituency, Sita Puri, Chanakya Place in Janakpuri Constituency
have been benefitted by internal sewerage facilities.

175. In South West Delhi 09 u/a colonies namely – Sai Baba Enclave B-
Block (Part-B) Najafgarh, Nathu Ram Park Tehsil Road Najafgarh,
Indra Park Najafgarh, Ajay Park Naya Bazar D-Block Najafgarh,
Roshan Mandi Najafgarh Road Najafgarh, Sai Baba Enclave
Najafgarh, Neelkanth Enclave Najafgarh, Indra Park F-Block
Maksudabad Najafgarh, Sri Sai Baba Enclave Najafgarh have been
benefitted by internal sewerage facilities.
176. In South Delhi 02 u/a colonies namely – Vishkarma Colony Pul
Pehladpur, Vishkarma B-Block Pul Pehladpur in Tughlakabad
Constituency have been benefitted by internal sewerage facilities.
177. Works of providing internal sewers in 286 U/A colonies are in
progress and this year 200 unauthorized colonies will be
benefitted with the internal sewerage facilities.
178. Sewage treatment plants of 20 mgd capacity at Nilothi was
commissioned in April 2015. Both the plants are designed to give
high quality treated effluent of BOD & TSS ≤ 10 ppm.
179. Sewage treatment plants of 20 mgd capacity Pappankala was
commissioned in Feb 2015. Both the plants are designed to give
high quality treated effluent of BOD & TSS ≤ 10 ppm.
180. Yamuna Vihar STP of 25 mgd capacity was commissioned in May
2015.
181. By commissioning of four new STPs, treatment of waste water
flows has increased from 390 mgd last year to 455 mgd thus
reducing the flow of untreated waste water flows into the Yamuna
River by 65 mgd.
182. A 10 million ltrs per day capacity tertiary level treatment plant at
Okhla was commissioned in Aug. 2015 and effluent of good quality

is being supplied for washing of buses at Sukhdev Vihar Bus depot
and to CRRI for horticulture purposes.
183. DJB worked actively in the direction of converting waste into
power resource at its sewage treatment plants. In last one year
power generation at the plant has been raised from 33000 (kwh)
units to 65000 (kwh) units.
184. For efficient functioning of the internal sewerage system, about 50
Kms of old sewers were replaced with new sewer pipe lines in
various parts of the city.
185. Long pending complaint of sewage overflows in Greater Kailash,
Mandangir, Dakshinpuri and Sheikh Sarai areas was rectified by
completing the work of rehabilitation of old trunk sewer line.
186. Rehabilitation of old sewer line opposite Lajpat Nagar Metro
station was completed expeditiously and overflows of sewage into
the SW drains was stopped.

187. The old sewage treatment plant at Ghitorni of 5 mgd capacity has
been commissioned.
188. For improvement of sewerage system in Madangir, the work of

About 28% work has been completed 31 kms sewer line has

areas. About 93% work has been completed and 4 kms sewer

line in Rajdhani group of colonies falling under Rithala
catchment area. About 88% work has been completed and 15
kms sewer line has been laid.
237. Providing & laying 280 mm to 600 mm nominal dia Internal
Sewer Line in the Colonies of Maidangarhi and Saidulajab under
Okhla WWTP Catchment Area in Delhi. About 26% work has
been completed and 11 kms sewer line has been laid.
238. Providing & laying Sewer Lines in colonies of Mehrauli,
Chhatarpur, and Lado Sarai falling under Mehrauli WWTP
Catchment Area in Delhi. About 26% work has been completed
and 10.5 kms sewer line has been laid
239. Providing and laying HDPE internal sewer line in Pulprahladpur,
Vishwakarma colony, Chungi No. 3 and Lal Kuan, New Delhi.
About 42% work has been completed and 15 kms sewer line has

Bhorgarh Narela Drainage Zone. About 98% work has been
completed and 1 km sewer line has been laid.
241. Rehabilitation of sewer line from B-II to block Madangir to
Andrewj Ganj Pumping station. The Work has been completed
and 7.48 kms sewer line has been rehabilitated.
242. Rehabilitation of Brick barrel / sewer from Pili Kothi to Ajmeri
Gate and from Ajmeri Gate to Indian Express sewer near Railway
track via Deen Dyal Upadhaya Marg. About 99% work has been
completed and 4.74 km sewer line/Barrel has been
rehabilitated.
243. During last two years DJB has provided sewer lines in 33
unauthorized colonies and work of laying of sewer lines in 286
unauthorized colonies is in progress.

E. Revenue:

244. Active consumers increased to 19.58 Lacs.

245. Monthly Water Bills of Dwarka residents have been reduced after
DJB has taken over services of this area.
246. Waiver scheme was launched upto 15th April 2015 for depositing
water bills without late payment fee benefitting 2.17 Lac
consumers and Rs. 130.89 realized.
247. Special camps organized in ZRO offices from 2nd May to 30th May
2015 for resolving billing and metering related grievances.
248. Special camps are being organized for facilitating consumers to
apply for new water connections in unauthorized colonies
249. For the 1st time, 100% billing done through hand held devices.

additional resources and make DJB financially self-sufficient.

individual water connection in a property has been increased from

258. Bi monthly billing started during 2015-16. Five billing rounds have
been completed successfully till 31st January 2016 and sixth round
is in progress.
259. In order to incentivize metering on actual basis, minimum average
billing 25 KL/Month has been implemented.

F. Effective Redressal of Public Grievances:

260. Facility of on line registration of complaints on DJB website

launched. This is backed by Computerized Complaint Management
System and 24x7 toll free complaint number ‘1916’.
261. Number of seats in the call centre increased from 28 to 38.

262. State of Art building has been constructed in GK-1 with modern
facilities which is to be used for revenue generation and and
complaint redressal.
263. Three more such centers planned and are proposed in remaining
zones i.e. East, West and North.

G. Administration:

265. Land measuring 28 Bigha 02 Biswa at village Dichaun Kaan,

Delhi has been taken over from BDO for construction of UGR
which will benefit residents of these villages.
266. Scholarship amounting to Rs. 122.65 lacs has been given to
746 children of the employees of Delhi Jal Board during last 2
years.
267. Retirement and Terminal dues have been given to 1416(659
in the year 2015 & 757 in the year 2016) retiring employees of
Delhi Jal Board on the day of their retirement.
268. Hospitals and Diagnostic Centres/Eye Centres and Dental
clinics included in the panel of DJB for providing better health
services to DJB employee.
269. Night patrolling started to check security and functioning of
DJB installations. This has improved alertness, checked misuse
of DJB installations and improved efficiency.
270. SEs have been deputed for monitoring of water emergencies
during summer session.
E- office has been introduced making office work paperless
since 11.04.2016

H. Reform projects & Renewable Energy:

272. Scheme of setting up Solar Parkson DJB land and building

initiated to produce clean energy, save money and reduce
dependence of DJB on DISCOMS.

energy efficient on PPP model through Power Grid
Corporation. Entire expenditure will be borne by the agency
who will replace old Electrical and mechanical equipments.
DJB will share revenue with agency earned in saving of
electricity bills.
274. For the first time Hydropower generation started from treated
effluent at ChillaSTP.
275. Hydro Power Plant will be installed at Chandrawal-I & II,
Wazirabad, Rithala to generate electricity.
276. Solar Power Plant commissioned at Jhandewalan to provide
clean energy to DJB Headquarters. The plant has been set up
through DSIIDC.
277. Work on community managed water and sewer facility started.
Detailed guidelines and manual prepared.
278. Mobile Towers have been allowed in DJB premises generating
Rs 1.25 Cr revenue from the rent.
279. The new building at GK-I and Andrews Ganj will be rented to
generate revenue.

280. GIS is being used for mapping DJB assets. The strengthening of this
cell is being taken up.
281. Web based online tanker monitoring system strengthened. GPS
also being installed in 450 additional tankers.
282. System for public monitoring of water tankers established.
Through this internet based system people can track the tanker
coming to their locality and quantity of water it is carrying.
283. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation
started in DJB to streamline its functioning, make the
functionary transparent and efficient and place the same in
public domain.

J. Anticorruption Measures

284. Massive Anticorruption Drive launched in Delhi Jal Board, strict

action including lodging of 15 FIR Lodged, 30 RDA registered, 38
Charge-sheets issued, 31 Employed Suspended.
285. 15 Employees dismissed, 18 employees sent for compulsory
retirement.
