I. Introduction
What is “Design Deconstruction”?
What is Design?
Design /dɪˈzʌɪn/ A plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or workings of a
building, garment, or other object before it is made. 1

“Design is a process of purposeful visual creation”

“Design is practical”
“A good design, in short, is the best possible
visual expression of the essence of something,
whether this be a message or a product.”
-Wucius Wong. 2

What is Deconstruction?
Deconstruction /ˌdiː.kənˈstrʌkʃ.ən/ /ˌdiː.kənˈstrʌkʃ.ən/ the act of breaking something down
into its separate parts in order to understand its meaning, especially when this is different
from how it was previously understood. 1

Deconstruction is therefore a
means of interrogating the re-
lationship between the two. 2

The need of Design Deconstruction
“Chúng ta không thể không đặt câu hỏi, vì sao trước thực tế sôi động của đời sống kiến trúc
hiện nay tiếng nói của lý luận phê bình bỗng trở nên yếu ớt, mờ nhạt, đôi khi bị xã hội quên
lãng đến vậy.” 1

Design Deconstruction is to research the fundamental basic of Design by looking at one

definition in as many points of view as possible.
It’s neither a style nor a movement, It’s just a method of building groundwork.
