5. As a Math teacher, how will you handle learners like Ishaan?
As a Math teacher, handle ling learners like Ishaan is a challenging part for us as a teacher.
However it is our duty not just to impart knowledge or by inspiring and encouraging them but
going extra mile, I believe I can handle learners having a dyslexia by, like what Ram did I will
also identify the causes of the academic shortcomings of my learners. Before I will totally help
my learners, I will first talk to his/her parents to discuss his/her situation. Then I will conduct
remedial classes or other activities for him/her to improve his performance. I will not stop there
because I will find for strategies, techniques and methods appropriate for his/her special need.
Maybe I can also do some adjustment in my lesson plan accommodating my learners’ special
needs.
6. How is special and inclusive education seen in the film? Cite specific scenarios.
Special education was seen in the movie through Ram’s other workplace which is Tulips
School. All of the students there had disabilities. While inclusive education is seen in Ishaan’s
school where normal and students with disabilities had one setting. For example, Rajan, a
physically disabled boy who go to the same school as Ishaan spend his time in school with the
non-special needs students. It was also mentioned in the movie when Ram go to the principal’s
office to disclose Ishaan’s case the Education for All Policy. A policy that orders schools to give
a quality education to all students.

child special?
The statement “every child is special” depicted in the film presents every child as unique and
worthy in their own special way. Though they may have learning disabilities, they should be
respected and cared. What makes every child special is their own unique talents, strengths,
weaknesses and abilities or his/her to express their individuality in a social environment. Also,
their interests, hobbies and way of learning these are what made them special.
8. What does the film imply to us teachers?
Just like the title of the movie, Every Child is Special, we teachers should instill it in our minds.
We shouldn’t conform to the standards in basing the worth of a student. We must know that
despite every flaws they had, they also had a brilliant gem hidden in their interior. All we had to
do is open our eyes, observe, and search for those special characteristics. We should extend
and offer our hands the farthest and the best we can to help and support them. It also important
to remember that every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way. That’s
why we should incorporate different teaching strategies because every students had their own
learning styles and multiple intelligences.
9. What are your realizations after watching the film?
As a future educator, this is a challenging task and role for us to handle learners like Ishaan.
Though it may be a hard task to us teachers but when we take every step to help them, all our
efforts will be worth it. Our realizations after watching the film is every child has individual
differences and needs. It is important for us to understand that our learners are diverse and
some of them have special needs. It is our job to incorporate strategies and methods to help our
learners to better understand the lessons. We should also be creative in our lessons in a way
that will cater the needs of every learner. Understanding that every learner has different pace of
learning and level of understanding is essential because this can make us sensitive and
responsive to their special needs. In addition, criticisms and prejudices should be discouraged
for the learners to overcome their difficulties. As a teacher, we should put in our mind that being
a teacher is a mission not just a job.
