ARGUMENT / THESIS
The speech is mainly about the sufferings and abuses brought about by the
dictatorial government of Ferdinand Marcos. It points how the Filipino people
from the perspective of President Cory Aquino fought for its freedom and
states what should be done to move forward from the doings of the past
government. It also opened up the issue of the foreign debt and asking for
financial aid in moving forward
THE SPEECH WAS CLEARLY
BIASED TOWARDS
BIAS

AND IT BEING STRONGLY
AGAINST FERDINAND
MARCOS AND HIS REGIME.
INCONSISTENCIES
The main content of the speech has its contents all over the place. Each
point made was somehow scattered as it simultaneously soils the Marcos
regime as well as storytelling about her late husband Benigno Aquino Jr.
All points made were all aiming at a particular goal, to appeal to the US to
receive financial aid.
SHORTCOMINGS
Her speech lacked the statistical and numerical data that could reflect as
to why the Philippines is in need of financial aid. The main intent of the
speech was not achieved through facts but rather through appealing to
the emotions of the Congress for them to help the Philippines to resolve
its debt.
