Do Grades Really Matter? Insights and Opinions

Grades are an important factor that is considered in college admissions and scholarship awards. While grades may increase pressure and not define a person's abilities, good grades are necessary to keep future options open. Specifically, good grades are required for admission to many universities and can lead to receiving scholarships. However, grades alone do not determine a person's future success, as there are talented people who did not receive good grades but still achieved great accomplishments. Overall, grades are meaningful for educational and career opportunities, but are not the sole measure of a person's skills and potential.

Grades! grades! grades!

Some people believe that grade is just a number and it will not
define their future. But the real thing is, do grades really matters? Is grades important?
Do grades reflect what they really should? Good Afternoon everyone! I'm here in front
of you to let you know my opinion about the mentioned issue.

Grades. For some it holds meaning, for some not. As a student there are lots of
subjects. And it must be graded. Of course being a student is hard. Grade gives you
pressure, am I right? Good Day everyone! I'm ____. And i will tell you that grades will
be just part of your life. Not important at all.

Throughout grade school, were tested, judged, reviewed, and scored on a number of
different things. Whether it was how well you fully understood an abstract concept and
applied it, or if you were capable of getting a form signed and returned, you were
evaluated and given a grade that, supposedly, reflected how academically
advanced you were. However, do simple life organization skills and responsibility really
reflect our capability? If not, why should these seemingly trivial things be a factor in
assigning a grade that eventually decides where a student begins their future?

It is a number or a letter that indicates the performance of a student in a subject in

a year level. Yeah, that's grade. It tells you how good you performed in a class or a
test. But being graded is pressure. I'm sure some or almost all of you will agree.
Pressure, check! Expectations, check and check! For me grade is not important.
Yeah some people said it will decide your future. But for what Sir Thomas Edison
said, "A single sheet of paper won't decide my future." See? Does a paper holds
your destiny. Does it tell what course will you take? Grades increases the possibility
that you will be taken for grabted. They USE you, befriend you for them to have the
advantage. Yeah, a sad truth. Why do you need to hold books if you know what
you want in the future.

“People can learn a great deal and acquire a good education without making high
grades” but, grades are one of the concrete and particular things society uses to judge
what you are likely to accomplish in the future.

Getting a higher or lower grade wont reflect yourself. Some gets higher grade
because one, they cheated, two, the teacher favors them, three, connection, four,
money. It doesnt mean that if you have good grades, you have already contribute
much to the society. Doesnt mean that if you have good grades, you are a better
person. Or the people around will respect you highly.

I want to stretch some points why grades matters & important.

Good grades open the door to college and university. High school grades matter most
if you have hopes of going to college. The grade point average (GPA) is one factor
that colleges may consider when they decide to accept or deny a student. Most
Universities set standard GPA to be admitted. Meaning if you have low grades your
limiting your chances to be accepted in many universities. Because admission officers
know that grades predict success in advance work better that do test scores.

If you want to be be successful in the future, you dont need grades. There are
famous and successful people who have proved you that you won’t need grades
to contribute something yo the world. How about Bill gates and Steve Jobs? They
both dropped out there school and started their business. Now they made their
name and is now very successful. And now Simon Cowell. He passed barely any
exams but now he made his name and sold more than 150 million records. See?
Your performance at school won't affect your future. You may end up in prison but
these persons prove you may not.

Good grades can lead to scholarship. Getting accepted is one thing and receiving
scholarship is another matter. Colleges and universities also look at the grades when
they decide whether to award scholarship to students.

There may be flaws in many grading systems, sometimes in the education system itself,
but letters and numbers do still hold value. It may be a tough truth to swallow, but
you’re only hurting yourself if you pretend like grades don’t matter.

I know a lot of people who said that 'Grade is just a number'. And for that, I
somehow agree. Why not? Grades don't measure intelligence as same as Age
doesnt define maturity. Doesnt mean that your intelligent, youll make a good future.
There are some aspects that don't need your grade. It doesn't define yourself
because you are intelligent in different ways. That's why there are people who are
good academically and some are good at extracurricular. Duh! A certificate of
recognition won't tell your worth.

However, you should also remember that you don’t need to hold a 90% to be
successful. Grades can’t show every amazing quality you have, and colleges,
scholarship organizations, and employers understand that too.

That's my opinion. Grades are not important. It a No. You can't make a fish climb
the tree same as you cannot make the monkey swim in the sea. People are
different. There are a lot of aspects where you dont need grades. See the world
around you. Not everyone whose smart ended up with money in there pockets.
And not everyone whose stupid ended up with stones on there hands.
Grades don’t define you. Those numbers on your transcripts aren’t labels on your
forehead. You are so much more. Good grades are important, but not so important
that you should pull all-nighters until you collapse. you should think of grades more as a
measurement of how much you tried.

I think that grades are important because our schools won't use it if it wasn't. Just like a
quote that says, "everything happens for a reason". Grades are also use for a reason.

I hope by now you realized that grades matters. Thank you for listening and have a
great day everyone.
