The movie Jose Rizal which tackles about the life, works and sacrifice of
one of our National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal who devote his days fighting against
the Spaniards through his writing specifically his two famous novel the El
Filibusterismo and Noli me Tangere.
The movie is long, but the movie was able to express and show to us
students the sacrifices Rizal was able to make for our country. It shows how
Rizal really love our country even though he had a chance to live in other
country he chooses to go back and defend the country with his own w ays.
The movie was able to portray the Philippines History in the hand of Spaniards
and how the locals in the past had been treated badly, it just depicts to the
nowadays situation of our country, to how badly our countrymen being
treated by foreign businessman, how badly treated the woman and children,
the lack of proper education to younger generation and racial discrimination
in class.
The message of the movie is an eye opener to all the generation and
younger generation to not be a slave in our own country, never forget our
nationalism to serve and protect the country as ours. This movie showed or
inspired every filipino to fight for our country in our own ways, it may not be
a matter of life and death but a matter of peaceful assurance to the future.
Rizal death ignited the nationalism and patriotism of every Filipino and it
started a revolution against the Spaniard. We may lose a great person in the
history of Philippines, but he was able to open the eyes of those blinded. The
actors were able to fully embrace the characters they portrayed, they made
it easy for me to understand the flow of the story. All in all, the movie was
epic, melodramatic and historian. There are funny, tearjerker, griefs and
hatred scenes that I appreciate in the movie.
