Acquaintance Party
Acquaintance parties are the best part of being one with the group of people in an organization.
It is one way of socializing with other people, getting to know each other, making connections,
and most importantly making friendships. This school year, our school's duly recognized
organization, the Humanities and Social Sciences Club, organized one of the most memorable
acquaintance party. It was themed as "WE'RE HUMSSTHETIC: MONOCHROMATIC." This was
scheduled this sixteenth of August at the school gym. I could say that this acquaintance party is
very memorable, for it had marked within our lives, the joy, laughter, and memories, that we
will treasure in our senior high school life.

During the preparations, every one in the club helped each other with the supervision of the
club president, Ariel Trescipuna. There were a lot of hindrances, but we had managed to pass up
above the odds. The party started at three o'clock in the afternoon, much later than the set
time. Everybody had a great time when everyone walked through the runway, flaunting their
elegant and aesthetic monochromatic attires. After that, there has never been a very dull
moment, for it had been followed by the series of fun activities like the game, "Bagyo, Bahay,
Baboy" which had enabled us to socialize with other sections; the powerful, heart-shaking
spoken poetry, talent explosions from the sections and and the much awaited coronation of Mr.
& Ms. Acquaintance. Our section's representative, Jim Bañares and Trisha Mae Peligres, never
gave a hint of weakness as they rocked the stage. With it, Jim stood as the first placer, and Trisha
was crowned as this year's Ms. Acquaintance. But to cap it all, we really enjoyed much the mass
freestyle dance.

In my point of view, the acquaintance party was a success. The program flowed smoothly, the
preparations were done without any major problems, and most importantly every one had
enjoyed the party. Unlike last year's party which was met with a lot of obstacles, and slight
boredom, this was bombarded with a lot of fun memories, events and experiences. To top it all
this, I am very glad to experience this acquaintance with people of different colors, and
personalities. This made me realize that life is too short to restrain yourself from keeping ang
secluding your own true self. Meeting new people, is one way of realizing the beauty of life
living within our stories.

Before the acquaintance party started, I thought it was “palpak” because the program should be
starting at exactly 1:30 pm but it started at 3 pm. At first, during the runway I was very happy
and a little bit of nervous because I have 2 partners which is Celia and Ina. They are so cute,
fierce, and fantastic because of their Katherina Petrova inspired look. Second, after the
pasundayag or runway thing, the program is getting more and more interesting because of
incredible games we played. We socialized to the other sections and we shared our happiness
with each other. Lastly, The fashion show started and the program was very lit because of
beautiful ladies and handsome boys. They show their skills and they compete to win the crown
of Mr. and Ms. Acquaintance 2019. For instance, after the pageant we the HUMSS learners
enjoyed the disco party.

This batch 2019 - 2020 Humanistas Acquaintance party was so unexpected to be amazing
because we enjoyed to be with each other as one Humanistas in this activity. Of course I'm
thankful to our Officers that they gave atterition to this program and they do their
responsibilities to manage it very well. This acquaintance party is more interesting and amazing
for me even though it is our last year here in Oton National High School as we created
unforgettable memories there. Also our fashion show in every section was very fun for the
representatives were handsome and pretty. I am so happy because the winning crown in female
category came from our section representative Trisha Mae Peligres and for male category first
runner up represented by Jim Bañares. And we HUMSS learners enjoyed cheering up for our
own representative candidates. Through this party it was able to show that humanistas are
talented because they show their abilities and skills in this program. After the awarding we
enjoyed the disco party eventhough it just only took a minute for us. Over all I enjoyed the party

Acquaintance 2019 I'm so happy and glad to meet our grade 11 humanistas I'm very thankful to
our president and our officers to manage very well our acquaintance this year, my final year is
more interesting and we have already friends from grade 11. Last but not the least our fashion
show in every section their representatives are so handsome and pretty and I'm so happy
because our Ms.Acquiantance 2019 is TRISHA PELIGRES and My bestfriend is 1st runner up .
After that happy moments we HUMSS learners enjoyed for we have a short disco party.

This HUMSS acquaintance party 2019, is the happiest and memorable event, but before the day
of the event, I knew that the president and officers of the HUMMS club are struggling on the
approval of the principal and department heads. The day of the event, we are so happy, excited
and blessed because of a good news that the principal signed the proposal paper for the
acquaintance party. We the Humanista are helping each other to design the gym and prepare all
the important things. Hours passed by I prepared my clothes and make over myself. The event
started at 3 pm. When I entered I feel so amazed, all Humanistas are stunning in their outfit and
beautiful faces.

We are enjoying the games that get us to know each other, we enjoyed also the pageant and
the intermission number of every sections. the gym was so crowded, noisy and full of good
vibes because all Humanistas are screaming, laughing,and jumping. The judges are laughing and
enjoying too because of the funny moments and we are so thankful to the judges.We the
Humanities and Social Science students united and enjoyed the memorable moments. Also we
are so thankful to the president, officers and teachers that help to make the acquaintance party
successful. I'm glad and thankful that I have a lot of new friends that call me manang. I am
proud to be a part of Humanities and Social Sciences family.

This acquaintance 2019, I feel blessed and happy at the same time but before the program I
used to think that our event will be "sablay" or "palpak" because of the blackout and so very
late program but my thought was change into "wow I want to take this moment because this is
very memorable". I felt happy because this kind of very momentous event of the Humanities
and Social Sciences learner's of ONHS is that you can see in their eyes that they enjoyed. Yes!
ENJOY! We the Grade 12 or the "manang's" and "manong's" of Grade 11, we just grab that
moment that this is our second time and last moment to celebrate the Acquaintance Party with
our co-HUMANISTA, so that the party we turn into memorable. We don't felt any boredom
because we just enjoy and enjoy. Until manong Bong turn off the lights and we having a disco
party at the last minute

Tesoro, Maelene Joy

This year acquintance party is my 1st and last acquaintance here on ONHS. The program is not
well organized but still I enjoyed it. We choose the theme monochromatic because of our "love
of fashion". We did not start as what our call time set because of some matters and some of
the students are late.
I did not finish the party because I need to go out early for some reason. I enjoy the entrance
fashion that caused shouts because of the students who perform in front and enjoy the party. I
missed some performances and entertainment but I know everyone of us enjoyed it.

In this acquaintance party that our president of the club and his members, did their best to
enjoy and bond with some Humanistas in Gr.11-12 and succesfully finished the activity with
remarkable moments in year 2019-2020. Hoping for next year and to the next humanistas do
the same happiness and enjoyment as what the "pinakagarot" left.
