Dear Sir;
Good day!
I am Ma. Meliza E. Perocho, a fifth-year student of Rizal Technological
University taking up B.S ARCHITECTURE, in partial fulfillment of the
requirements of the degree in Bachelor of Science in Architecture in our school,
as a student it is my honor to submit for your approval my thesis proposal
entitled;
PARAÑAQUE ANIMAL REHABILITATION COMPLEX
“A Study of Anthrozoology for Human-Animal Interactive
Environment”
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has monitored more than
a hundred cases of animal cruelty in the country a year, many of which are
ignored due to the lack of stiff penalties against animal abuse. Although many
pets in the Philippines are loved and taken care of well, as much as one third of

all pets, perhaps even more, are kept in conditions which in developed
countries would be grounds for prosecution.
The aim of this project is to provide a humane education facility dedicated
to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of victims of animal cruelty.
I’m looking forward for your favorable response to my request.
Thank you and God bless.
Truly yours,
PEROCHO, MA. MELIZA E.

ABSTRACT
This design study is an investigation into a frequently ignored building
typology in the Philippines – the animal care facility. With the goal of rethinking
the said typology from one which addresses essential issues to one which
elevates quality of life and interfaces compassionate standards to the general
population, the study is focused on making architecture that conveys, instructs,
and maintains an advocacy.
A psychological approach was connected in tending to the design issue of
associating animal welfare to general society. Through outfitting the procedures
of observational learning presented in Albert Bandura's Social Learning Theory
and interpreting them into design concepts, the architecture of the facility can
take into consideration the encapsulated standards of animal welfare to be
imparted and embraced in the claim lives of PARAÑAQUE ANIMAL
REHABILITATION COMPLEX's guests.
