Switching to Galaxy S24

If you are switching to a Galaxy S24 phone from your iOS device and scanned a QR code to get here, touch back on your Galaxy S24 and select iPhone or iPad on the "Set up using another device" screen.

Follow the prompts on your devices to connect to your network and add accounts. The following information will help you use Smart Switch to transfer your data from your iOS device to your new Galaxy S24 phone.

Prepare to switch

Make sure you have everything needed for a smooth transfer
  • Fully charged devices.
  • A computer for iTunes or iCloud.
  • iPhone Lightning to USB-C Cable or iPhone Lightning to USB Cable and USB-OTG adapter.

Deregister iMessage
From your iPhone, turn off iMessage and Facetime so you don't miss any messages once you've switched.

Update your iPhone Software
Make sure you are running the latest software version to ensure a smooth transfer.

Back up iMessage media and photos on your iPhone and iPad
This saves your photos, videos, or other media from text messages to your iCloud or iTunes account.

Install your SIM card in your new device. Once the transfer is complete, your can make and receive calls, send and receive messages, and more.

Open Smart Switch on your new device and tap Receive data.

Tap your old device type.

Connect your devices

Connect your devices via your old device cable or transfer your data wirelessly using your iCloud account.

NOTE: Some data may not transfer when using wireless transfer via iCloud.

Trust your device connection
On your iPhone, tap Trust and enter your passcode. Then tap Next on your new device.

Select your content
Select the content you want to transfer.

Not all data transfers
Tap Find out what data can’t be transferred if needed and tap OK.

Install suggested apps
Review the suggested matching apps. Uncheck the apps you do not want to install and touch Skip or Install to continue.

Transfer your content
Tap Transfer to send your data to your new device.
