Position Duties:
PopcornFX Art Division is looking to grow their team with a highly skilled and experienced VFX/Technical Artist, with in-depth knowledge of creating real-time in-game effects and researching, animating, simulating and visualizing outstanding looking effects.
Main missions:
- Create Niagara VFX on UE4 for a major game company
- Imagine effects tailored to the needs of games in collaboration with various disciplines
- Work with various game studios to help them achieve, improve, and optimize their effects
- Be able to quickly perform basic prototypes that will be used for discussions related to effects and gameplay
- Be able to train others in our internal pipeline or in external studios, be able to explain and document the tool
- Be able to communicate with artists, technical team members, studio leadership, and outsource managers.
- Participate in the R&D effort by experimenting with effect behaviors and rendering.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 2 years experience in VFX (video game, offline CG …)
- Artistic sense (comfortable with realistic effects)
- Experienced with VFX tools (Niagara, Houdini, PopcornFX v2)
- Comfortable with the syntax of shaders (HLSL, GLSL), or scripting languages in general
- Good understanding of physics
- Good understanding of texture & shader creation
- Fluent technical English
Pluses:
- Rigorous
- Adaptability, flexibility, openness
- Agree to receive, seek and give constructive criticism
- Very good understanding of movements in space. Good spatial awareness.
- Good mathematical knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of 2D & 3D tools (Photoshop, ZBrush, Maya, 3Dsmax, After Effects, FumeFX, Maya Fluids, EmberGen, etc…)
- Experience with a mainstream Game Engine (UE4, Unity, O3DE)

Position Duties:
PopcornFX Art Division is looking for a VFX Artist to grow their team to work on exciting Indie, AA and AAA projects.
Main missions:
- Create real time Visual Effects on a custom engine for a major upcoming AAA game
- Create VFX on PopcornFX, UE5 and Unity for various projects,
- Imagine a wide range of effects tailored to fit the universe of a game, in collaboration with various artistic and technical disciplines
- Work with various game studios to help them create, improve, and optimize their VFX
- Quickly create basic prototypes that will be used for discussions related to effects and gameplay
- Communicate with artists, technical team members, studio leadership, and outsource managers
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience as a VFX artist in games or related industries
- Portfolio showcasing recent game VFX work
- Good artistic sense (comfortable with realistic effects)
- Experience with VFX authoring tools (Niagara PopcornFX v2, Houdini)
- Comfortable with shader creation (HLSL or visual shader editors)
- Comfortable with texture creation (Photoshop, Substance)
- Ability to identify optimization issues in an fx and fix them
- Fluent technical English
- Ready to learn new processes and softwares quickly
- Eager to receive, seek and give constructive criticism
Pluses:
