About the Hosts
Michelle Barboza-Ramirez is a Latinx Los Angeles native who studies the history of the earth through the stories told in stone and bone. Her research has focused on extinct land dwelling, plant-eating Miocene mammals, and her field work has taken her from California to Florida, to Panama, and Argentina! Her other research focuses on the need for accessibility & diversity in STEM. She currently teaches in higher ed and works with the national park service.
Blake de Pastino is a science journalist who specializes in the exploration of human and natural history. As a founding editor of National Geographic News, he interviewed researchers, visited dinosaur digs, and covered the latest developments in archeology and space science. Since 2011, Blake has served as editor in chief of two of YouTube’s leading education channels: Crash Course and SciShow. Blake is also the publisher of Western Digs, a site that covers the latest discoveries in archeology and paleontology around the American West.
Kallie Moore is a paleontologist and science communicator. Since 2008, she has been the Collections Manager of the University of Montana Paleontology Collection. During this time, she has given hundreds of tours, facilitated specimen loans to researchers all over the world, and maintained access to the collection. She also consulted for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on renovations to the DINOSAUR ride.
