Ableton Live 12 - Instrument Racks Posted December 16th, 2024 in Audio

    Hi Everyone,

I have made a few Ableton Live 12 instrument racks if anyone is interested in them.

    I have a...

    • Pad/Stab Generator (Wavetable) that is great for House music with many macros built in.
    • Organ Generator (Operator) with lots of macros including a fun Chord Bounce function.
    • Bass Generator (Drift) with 8 Macro's that change the Arpeggiation/Reverb/Delay etc.

All of them have macros I have assigned that change the tone or oscillator types or add some level of creative change.

You will need Ableton Live 11.3 or later to use them, and you would need the Ableton Live Suite to use the Pad/Organ Generator.

I have some Serum presets I have been making too.

Add me on Discord if you're interested as there is not a way to upload them here, I don't think?

    Have a good evening, everyone!

Response to: Where Do Your Song Ideas Come From?? Posted December 14th, 2024 in Audio

My process is to fire up Ableton, drop a Drum Rack and simple percussion, and tinker with a bass or pad sound. I usually end up with multiple takes of something before I move forward, and I’ve literally spent days or weeks on something that is 15-20 seconds long because it just wasn’t right. Once it hits though, I’m usually done with the track itself in a few hours to a couple days. Sometimes I end up turning one thing into multiple others and save them as a different project. Always have 20-30 ideas just sitting around for a session where I forgot what the hell they were.

EQ/Mastering I usually do by ear with pro-q3 by grouped elements.

Yeah, pretty basic. Occasionally I’ll be a little motivated and hit the pavement with rubber burning already, and in those cases, I usually pump out some interesting things.

Users scouted before the scouting update will remain scouted. I feel like accounts should be a week old or level 3 to upload audio, since most people uploading AI slop are barely new accounts. I think we can improve the AI audio filter (if there's one).

Pretty good solution that’s also fair. Level 3 is doable by a real artist in any area and 3 scouts is doable if there’s effort on the uploaded part.

Good work, Tom! AI Music is dogshit, and it's unfortunate that it is a continual issue.

I mean, it depends. If he flew it to me, won’t it be cold? He’s fast, but he’s not Sonic.

Response to: What do y'all use to make music? Posted December 9th, 2024 in Audio

I’ve been using Ableton Live for quite a few versions. I think the automation is great and for someone like me who can barely focus, I just don’t think I could switch to any other DAW. I have tried FL Studio and Bitwig demo’s, and they do seem promising too.
