Roundtable: Data Analytics of Mediation
From 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. ET, Tapestry ADR neutral Nigel Wright, Esq. will take part in a roundtable with industry leaders as they discuss updates in mediation and data sharing.
CLE Panel: Implicit Bias in Mediation
Tapestry ADR (A Division of NAM) is proud to present a CLE panel discussion at 12:30 p.m. ET, led by Marcie Dickson (President, Tapestry ADR), who will be joined by the Hon. Leah Ward Sears (Ret.) (Hearing Officer, Tapestry ADR), as well as Audrey J. Lee, Esq. (Founding Principal). This engaging presentation will examine how unconscious bias can impact the mediation process, and how mediators can mitigate the effects of bias. It will cover topics such as identifying and addressing implicit bias, creating an inclusive environment, and developing strategies for managing difficult conversations.

Meet our presenters
Marcie Dickson is a leading voice on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging in alternative dispute resolution. She is the President of Tapestry ADR, a NAM division, and an executive leadership team member. At Tapestry ADR, Ms. Dickson focuses on developing and promoting a wide range of strategic initiatives, including expansion in key markets, new services, and technology solutions. She also leads efforts to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging (DEIAB) practices at Tapestry, NAM, and the broader legal community.
Hon. Leah Ward Sears (Ret.) is an arbitrator and mediator with extensive ADR, trial, and appellate experience in the fields of contracts, torts, construction, eminent domain, local government law, product liability, professional malpractice, public utilities, title to land, torts, and wills. Justice Sears was the first woman to hold a position on the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia. In 1992, she was appointed to Georgia's Supreme Court as the first woman and youngest person ever to sit on that court. She was also the first woman to win a contested statewide election in Georgia, retaining a seat on the state's Supreme Court. In 2005, she was sworn in as Chief Justice of Georgia's Supreme Court. Her experience on the bench provides a unique and valuable perspective on ADR matters and she sets herself apart through a steadfast dedication to work and an impressive array of professional
achievements.
Nigel Wright, Esq. is a registered mediator and arbitrator, practicing New York and Georgia attorney, as well as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. Mr. Wright has more than 30 years of mediation and arbitration experience including all non-personal lines insurance claims. He also has a significant insurance and reinsurance coverage background including federal and state coverage disputes, Bermuda Form, international, and domestic arbitrations. Mr. Wright has been Head of Claims, and Head of Specialty Claims, at two international carriers as well as a senior partner at two Am Law 100 law firms, on both sides of the Atlantic. In those roles, he represented insurers, insureds, and related entities in federal and state courts, administrative and regulatory proceedings, and in various international forums in over 50 countries and has mediated extensively both nationally and internationally.
