This was a new build bungalow that we were brought in on from the ground up and was a pleasure to design for our clients. The design direction for this home was an earthy cozy vibe that wrapped you up like a nice warm hug. Medium tone hardwood floors cozy up the white walls and hits of black and rust throughout the home give it that earthy vibe we were hoping for. This home feels like a warm fall sweater to me. The Basement features a rust looking tile on the fireplace and medium wood built in cabinetry enveloping it. A sexy little bar off to the side of the basement family room features the same rust looking tile but in mosaic form. That's tempered with a black perimeter cabinetry and a warm medium tone wood island.
Upstairs the main spaces follow suit with the white brick and white shiplap mix on the fireplace and medium tone builts in cabinets surround it. The great room, dining room and kitchen also feature vaulted ceilings with beams. The kitchen features a double story kitchen hood finished in a hand troweled plaster and a spice ledge finished the same way in a plaster. It's subtle yet striking. We let that feature be the star of the show by pairing it with subtle and small pendant lights. A classic subway tile backsplash finishes off the look. The kitchen Cabinetry spills over into the dining room creating a servery/hutch for all of their dining needs. The bedrooms carry through that same warm and neutral hugged by a sweater vibe each a little different and perfectly suited for the residents of that room. The mudroom features a dog washing station and look how cute that pup is in there sitting pretty with bubbles on his head.
