Disappointed DustinThe wooden parts were inconsistently drilled. There were sometimes holes where they needed to be and sometimes not. The holes didn’t always line up properly. The nails for the backing were made from a very soft metal and bent when hammering them in. This is not a good product and is far below the standard of all other IKEA products we’ve bought over the years. 2
Very poor qualityShainaThe pieces used to hold the drawers together are very poor quality and some broke within a day. Having trouble finding replacement parts and my closest ikea is 2hrs away so unfortunately can’t pop in as I have young children and road trips aren’t fun. Also painted the dresser so a return was not an option. Drawers are small and don’t open enough for access to the back of drawer as well. Extremely disappointed. We typically love IKEA products but the quality of this one is just horrible. I’m not sure what people who are saying the quality is good are comparing it to? Definitely spend a bit more money for higher quality if you’re considering this dresser!1

My only complaint is because there is only one knob per drawer, it's hard for them to open them, definitely would benefit from two knobs per drawer. Strait forward build.3

Actually pretty good - Do not listen to the reviewsFrancisI wasn't sure about this since the reviews all say the same thing. It's difficult to build and it is flimsy. If you have a minimum of logic and are able to read the manual, the chest and drawer is actually quite simple to build. It has a lot of pieces so you have to be organized but other than that, it is sturdy and does what it needs to for a very cheap price. With 2 people, we built it under 1 hour. 4

Lightweight and easy to assembleKim-LeeThis dresser is smaller than it seems in the picture, but that was fine as I went by the actual measurements . The smaller look was good as I was working with limited space. It's easy to put together if you can use a few basic tools (hammer, hex key, screwdriver). I'm a woman and I put it together in less than 90 mins. Would definitely buy again, the wood texture is smooth and splinter free. Easy to clean as well, even makeup stains come off easily.5
I Should Have Listened To The Negative ReviewsElizabethI have had many good experiences with Ikea furniture. The Rask has been a very unsatisfactory one. If you have basic carpentry skills and tools, including wood clamps, carpenter's glue, small wood screws and an abundance of patience, this Rask might be adequate as a low-cost storage unit. Why? Some of the directions for assembly are in a sub-optimal order, the materials are of minimal quality (the wood split in three places requiring gluing and clamping, the screws provided are terrible and the alignment of pre-drilled holes is off-centre requiring re-drilling and the use of glue and standard wood screws. I have avoided returning it only because of the time involved and realising that with some work-arounds my husband and I have made it sort of work well enough.1

Furniture tipping over is one of the home furnishing industry's most serious safety issues and we’ll never stop working on innovative stability solutions for our storage furniture. A tip-over accident can happen when you least expect it. It could be someone using a drawer as support to stand up or children climbing to reach something on top. But no one can predict all the scenarios that everyday living at home can create. That’s why the best way to avoid tipping accidents is to always anchor the furniture to the wall. But we also offer new stability solutions that help make our storage furniture safer. One example is our stability feature Anchor and Unlock. "It means that the chest of drawers must be anchored to a wall to be able to open more than one drawer at a time, which reduces the risk of tipping, but doesn’t entirely remove it. By anchoring the chest of drawers to the wall, you unlock the drawers and can open them all at once," says Björn Andreasson from the development team. Another way we increase stability is to integrate it into the design. "With GREÅKER cabinet with drawers, for example, we´ve developed hinges that stop the doors at a 115-degree angle and keep them there to reduce the risk of tipping," says product developer Dagmara Pawlus. IKEA of course meets all safety requirements in our markets, but we don’t just settle for this. We often set higher demands than what legislation requires to help people enjoy a better everyday life – in a safer home.
