How IKEA planning and consultation service works
- Get inspired by spending time on IKEA.ca and playing with all our free online planning tools. Take notes on which styles, colors, products, and ideas you like so it’s easier for us to understand what designs and looks you prefer.
- Choose a need. Do you want help with a particular furniture system? Browse the furnishing areas below to find the planning service you need.
- Book an appointment by choosing a planning option below. You can choose an online or in-store appointment.
- Measure and list. We’ll need details about the space or room. Record measurements of height, width, and depth as well as positions/dimensions of electrical outlets, doors, windows, etc. Make a list of your needs.
- Bring your measurements, list of needs, and style notes to the appointment. A drawing or photo of the space is useful, too. We’ll discuss layouts and solutions to create a plan and a shopping list.
- Take time to assess the plan and next steps. Do you need to make changes? Start over? Buy now? When you’re ready, visit us online or in-store to order.

Looking to plan your dream kitchen and don’t know where to start? By booking this personalized kitchen planning and measuring service, one of our kitchen experts will be happy to create the kitchen of your dreams, tailored to your needs and budget using our IKEA kitchen planner.
This service will take place in the comfort of your home, for one room only and takes up to 3 hours.
We will provide you with a complete kitchen plan which includes the following:
- Accurate kitchen measurements.
- A personalized kitchen plan designed on the IKEA kitchen planner.
- An item list of IKEA products.
- A labour estimate detailing the assembly and installation cost of the cabinets.

Free, up to 30 minutes of online or in-store appointment with an experienced IKEA sleep specialist that includes:
Advice on the choices of mattress, box spring, pillow, beds, bedding etc. Advice on a restful sleep based on your personal sleep needs. You provide the measurement of the area.
Smart home consultation
Free, up to 1 hour of online appointment with an experienced IKEA specialist that can help you with:
