Serioustly underrated, underappreciated IKEA productBrandonThese curtains noticeably reduce not just noise coming in from outside, but also sound and noise from within the room, from bouncing off hard surfaces, creating a loud echo that makes speech (and dialogue on TV) more difficult to hear. People think about lighting, and music for atmosphere, but few think about the *acoustic properties of the room*. These drapes do that for you! The sound absorption makes for a room that feels warmer, cozier, and almost cocoon-like. Cannot recommend highly enough, and I almost never give five stars in cases like these.5
excellent performanceDikosavaI bought three of these today for my daughter's bedroom to line the wall we share with noisy neighbours. I tested them by placing a speaker behind the curtains. I played the music at volume 6 and would say that the sound was dampened to about 4. The installation was easy and I used an IKEA rod which put the curtains at about 10 cm from the wall (instructions direct that you mount them at least 9 cm from the wall). I also really like the soft white colour, not too creamy and not too bright white. They were super easy to iron and hang as well. I wish they were a bit longer, but I might be nitpicking. I am now considering replacing all curtains with these to further dampen the street noise. Great product!5
