Spring, foam, or a combination?

We all have preferences. That's why we offer different types of mattresses because our bodies are not the same shape or size, and we all have different sleeping preferences. Not all materials support your body the same way; we offer different types of mattresses that support your way of sleeping.

Pocket springs

Spring mattresses use coils to distribute your weight, providing the traditional bed bounce and optimal support for the body, eliminating excessive stress. Each spring is covered separately, so they all move independently of each other, which means that the mattress provides selective support for different parts of the body, and the movement of one person does not affect the other.

Foam

Soft, resilient, and made without coils. Foam mattresses spread your body weight more evenly than spring mattresses. They mould to the body's contours, relieving stress and pressure points; particularly at the hips, shoulders, and neck.

Hybrid

Hybrid mattresses combine the benefits of a spring core with a cushiony foam top. They provide a cool, comfortable night's sleep by combining sturdiness and pressure relief.

Mattresses in a variety of types and sizes at affordable prices

IKEA offers a variety of mattresses for the whole family including crib mattresses, twin mattresses, full mattresses, queen mattresses and king mattresses.

In addition to producing high-quality affordable mattresses in all the most popular sizes, we also made sure to offer an extensive selection across the three primary mattress types — spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, and hybrid mattresses.

Spring mattresses offer classic support and bounce

Our spring mattresses distribute your weight evenly, so there’s no extra pressure on any part of your body. A key difference between the foam mattresses is that the open spring construction helps airflow through the mattress. This supports the ventilation in the mattress and can help you keep cool while you sleep. For some, it may give the mattress a fresher, airier feeling.

Is a spring in your sleep what you need to have a spring in your step in the morning? Browse IKEA’s firm, medium firm and plush pocket spring mattresses to find your best mattress match.

Memory foam mattresses cradle and support

Foam mattresses mould to the shape of your body and distribute your weight evenly. These mattresses provide support for your whole body without putting extra pressure on any specific body parts. They are also silent (no creaky springs!) and absorb the shock of movement.

Hybrid mattresses combine the best of spring and foam styles into one

Hybrid mattresses are another great option available across all firmness levels, offering the classic support and bounce of pocket spring mattresses with the sink-in softness of memory foam on top. Hybrid styles are especially popular for sleepers who enjoy the feel of memory foam but feel a sinking feeling in a full foam mattress, or find them too hot — the two primary concerns of memory foam. Hybrids offer the best of both mattress types at an affordable price.
