Clocks

When we look at clocks, we see more than just the time. The clocks we choose to include in our homes also reflect our personal style. Whether it’s a large clock in the kitchen we’ll look at multiple times a day—or that clock next to bed that we have a love-hate relationship with—clocks are an everyday essential. And there’s no time like the present to browse our selection for a fresh new look for your home that you can count on.

Time to decorate, and then some

As keepers of time, clocks have a way of attracting looks. This also makes them a good means for conveying style, colour and coordination. Moreover, having a proper alarm clock by your bed – enabling some time off from blue-light screens – may help you both fall asleep and wake up more effectively.

Clock, clock on the wall. Who’s the most punctual of them all?

Why reach in your pocket to check the time when you can admire stylish clocks that can serve as accent or focal points while complementing any décor scheme? After all, isn’t it ‘about time’ your home decor worked harder for you?

IKEA offers affordable wall clocks and alarm clocks in a variety of designs to help express your sense of style while staying on schedule.

Clocks for every style, budget and need

The most obvious reason we include clocks throughout our homes is so we can easily check the current time. But the reasons why we need to check the time can vary quite a bit, which can also influence which clock is best for a given situation.

Not sure where to include clocks in your home, or what to look for in design? We have some ideas to get the gears turning…

  • A clock with seconds is great for kitchens. Whether you’re an avid chef or baker or most of your meals start out frozen, choosing a clock with a seconds hand will help you in achieving a more precise cook or bake time.
  • Small portable clocks are great for parents. Some of our smallest clocks are very lightweight and can fit in the palm of your hand. These are perfect for helping kids keep track of how much time they have left for any number of tasks. For example, if your little one gets 30 minutes of TV time in the afternoon, you can set the clock next to them and let them know when TV time will be up. Having the clock right at their side can empower them to use their time wisely while also knowing exactly how much they have left. This same method can also apply to countless other activities, including reading time, playtime, homework time and more.
  • Large clocks above the door help you head out on time. To be certain, there is no magical clock that can help you get out the door earlier all on its own. However, including easy-to-read clocks in prominent areas of the home where the whole family can see them is a start. Who amongst us hasn’t squinted to read the time on the microwave from across the room and misread it by 10 or more minutes? Save yourself from the panic of getting in the car and realizing your mistake when the dash clock lights up or arriving at an empty bus stop!
