Klopf Architecture

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 23, 2014
My HOA hired Klopf Architecture to design new fences, front gates, lighting and paint color plans for our condominiums. They were designed in 1963 by Quincy and Jones and built in 1964 by Eichler Homes. Replacements in the 1990s did not serve the mid-century aesthetic well -- but owners did not want to return to the light-inhibiting original thin-line panel fences and gates. The Klopf team produced three outstanding options. The one we selected includes brilliant design features like frosted glass doors with 1/4-in spaces between fence boards to allow light in along with clear glass doors for the pool area with 1/2-in spaces between boards surrounding it. The overall design and color plan is clean and elegant. John Klopf and his team could not have been more friendly and flexible throughout. We look forward to implementing this design over the next few years.
KYLE CHAN ARCHITECT

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJanuary 19, 2015
Before I begin my remodel plan, I was debating whether or not I should hire a professional architect, and I am glad I did. Kyle is extremely knowledgable and resourceful, he organize and oversee the whole project, as well as fill in every little detail that I probably will neglect. Not only he design a cost effective layout for us, tackle all the structural issues, he also help me deal with all the permit and legal hassle so that I can concentrate on shopping for my new sofa and coffee machine. Working with Kyle is such a pleasant experience, he is responsive, honest, and detail oriented. Having Kyle as my professional architect is the best decision I made throughout the entire project!!

Ying Li Architect

Excellent architect with an eye for maximizing space, working around space constraints and creating great flow, especially in the main living area. She designed a major expansion for us and was very attentive to our needs and what we wanted out of the space. Whereas some architects are too focused on design at the expense of practical function, Ying found the perfect balance for us. She handled all the bathroom design elements so we didn't need a separate designer for that and she helped guide the kitchen design, which I think helped to make these important spaces more cohesive to the overall plan. She was especially good at a floor plan for a busy family with kids and a home that is designed for entertaining. I also appreciated that she was available for consultation throughout the renovation process and even collaborated with our contractor on key elements like spacing and materials to be sure everything was done right.
