This family wanted a contemporary structure that blended natural elements with with grays and blues. This is a unique structure that turned out beautifully. We went with powder coated 6x6 steel posts hiding all of the base and top plates
creating a seamless transition between the structure and travertine flooring. Due to limitations on spacing we added a built-in granite table with matching powder coated steel frame. This created a unique look and practical application for dining seating. By adding a knee wall with cedar slats it created an intimate nook while keeping everything open.
The modern fireplace and split style kitchen created a great use of space without making if feel crowded.

This two-tiered space offers lower level seating near the swimming pool and upper level seating for a view of the Illinois River. Planter boxes with annuals, perennials and container plantings warm the space. The retaining walls add additional seating space and a small grill enclosure is tucked away in the corner.

The Pavilion is a contemporary outdoor living addition to a Federation house in Roseville, NSW.
The existing house sits on a 1550sqm block of land and is a substantial renovated two storey family home. The 900sqm north facing rear yard slopes gently down from the back of the house and is framed by mature deciduous trees.
The client wanted to create something special “out the back”, to replace an old timber pergola and update the pebblecrete pool, surrounded by uneven brick paving and tubular pool fencing.
After years living in Asia, the client’s vision was for a year round, comfortable outdoor living space; shaded from the hot Australian sun, protected from the rain, and warmed by an outdoor fireplace and heaters during the cooler Sydney months.
The result is large outdoor living room, which provides generous space for year round outdoor living and entertaining and connects the house to both the pool and the deep back yard.
The Pavilion at Roseville is a new in-between space, blurring the distinction between inside and out. It celebrates the contemporary culture of outdoor living, gathering friends & family outside, around the bbq, pool and hearth.

What happens when everything and everyone comes together? This project, an outdoor living and entertainment environment anchored by an OMNIA Group Architects designed poolhouse, is a perfect example of synergy of client and a team of skilled and talented professionals and craftsman. It started with a sophisticated client looking to put in a pool - but they wanted something special and the form they decided on was a beautiful shape which blended the shapes of their land, the sun and the existing house structure (also designed by OMNIA Group Architects.) The client had toyed with the idea of a cabana / pool house of some sort and contacted us to design it. We worked together to create an indoor - outdoor experience of infinite flexibility. Featuring folding walls of glass (www.nanawall.com) this wood and stone and stucco structure seamlessly blends formality and a sleek nature inspired modern character. This essence is enhanced by neutral hues which reflect the colors of the home and the pool decking. These neutrals are punctuated by natural wood browns and subtle greens on the cabinetry. The poolhouse is comprised of an encloseable dining space, an arbor capped living space which features a fireplace for cooler fall nights, a dressing area with washer dryer and ingenious OMNIA Group Architects designed cabinetry for towels and storage and finally a cool simple powder room. A typical example of the melding of features is how the vertical grain of the grass colored bamboo bar cabinet doors mimic the tall modern grasses specified by the landscape designer, Landscape Design Group. The pool was designed and built by Armond Pools. THe project is located in Skippack, Pennsylvania.

This 22’x20’ pavilion is, essentially, a screen porch turned into an elegant structure sited deep into a verdant backyard. Pavilions are classically an open-air structure, but in this case screens in the expansive openings and door bring in the breeze while keeping pests at bay. It is also the perfect place to spend a rainy spring day!
The pavilion is composed of a 4” thick concrete slab with a flooring of natural stone veneer. Four tumbled stone piers with limestone bases are in each corner, connected by carpentry framing and topped with a vaulted truss ceiling and 40-year roofing shingles. A gutter and downspout system assures the building – and occupants – stay dry.
Inside, there is full electric and a plumbing hookup, which makes this a flexible space. The family takes full advantage of it as a quiet retreat, their home away from home. But many times throughout the year, it easily transforms into a party room, with guests inside and spread out upon the lawn and at various seating areas along the winding path that leads from the home to the pavilion.
Creative Arch
The home recycles much of the existing slab and groundwork structures. A combination of cedar shiplap vertical and horizontal, metal cladding and plaster have been used combined with low lying roofs help to break up the buildings form. Working with the existing parameters and layered approach, has resulted in a modern home that rests comfortably between neighbouring high and low properties on a cliff top site.

Pro-Land Landscape Construction Inc.
This large property was a blank canvas when Pro-Land was hired to complete the design and build for this backyard retreat. Initially, the clients had just wanted a small outdoor space with a kitchen and a cabana with a fireplace. As the design progressed things changed; a secondary covered structure was added to the kitchen, and the patio was expanded to include a concrete pool. The natural stone fireplace in the cabana is a focal piece in this backyard. The wood and natural stone along with a crackling fire create a comfortable and cozy space to relax on those cooler summer nights. Raised planter boxes frame the path to the pool, separating the spaces while creating a cohesive feel through the use of materials. Truly an entertainers paradise, the yard features a gunnite pool complete with hot tub and tanning deck, a covered outdoor kitchen & bar, custom wood burning fireplace, and modern cabana finished with automatic roller screens, and sliding glass doors.
