I have the same problem and wonder WHY? Why this year (never before) Why LED lights? Why do they chew them off, wether they are on or off? WHY colored lights and not white ones? WHY chew the ones on the railing and not on a bush, ( white ones on the bush). From other comments I see this has been going on for years, but the first time for me and I have lived in several cities in Quebec and New Brunswick. I have had lights on eaves, trees and railings and only bother the red ones on my railing this year. All very strange.... BTW, I'm 73 yrs old and its a first for me....

I am sure no expert on this but can offer a couple ideas. My DH always makes sure the house lights end on the side by where our picture window is--it is close enough that I can plug a white extension cord in and run it under the eaves to the window lights. You could also buy a can of interior/exterior spray paint to take care of the color of the cords. Maybe some of the others will have better suggestions for you. Good luck. Luvs

My neighbor switched to LED outdoor Christmas lights last year. What I didn't like was how puny the light was....toooooo dim. Big contrast between our C9 reds and his LEDs. We usually run four or five strands of outdoor lights 24 hours a day for the month. We turn off the regular outdoor lights for December. In the house, the tree and a lighted garland and a couple of small lighted things are the extent of it. Our electric bill doesn't rise that much...a couple of dollars from the lights. One of the keys is that we turn off our regular outdoor lamp post and garage light. Indoors one lamp doesn't get used during Christmas. It's a trade-off. We are slowly replacing all our incandesent bulbs in the house. I'll miss the warmth of the old bulbs, but the new energy savers are looking better and better each year. My Light is my husband who came home from the hospital yesterday! The little decorating we did on November 27, the day before he was hospitalized (Septic Shock), is all that will be done this year. Its enough! Merry Christmas!
