Help choosing lighting for kitchen island!
Hi there, I am really agonizing over lighting for my kitchen island and would love some help.
The island will be approx 9' long, 3'8" wide. The countertop will be Caesarstone Calacutta Nuvo and there is a mid-size sink by Blanco in white silgranit in the middle. Faucet is stainless steel look by Blanco and drawer pulls will match this material. Cabinetry will be white shaker style uppers and walnut flat front lowers. Overall look we are going for is mostly modern / somewhat transitional.
The rest of the kitchen lighting consists of ceiling cans. There are no other pendants or light fixtures to coordinate with.
Right now the options I'm considering for island lighting are:
1) A linear suspension in a simple design. These tend to be around 50" long and we are looking only at LEDs such as: https://www.2modern.com/products/mumu-pendant-light?variant=33346541577
https://www.2modern.com/products/abstract-linear-pendant
Would love to find a longer suspension at 60-70" but no luck yet.
2) Pendants in an interesting design. Love the look of the logico nested pendants in this kitchen

but it's out of our budget.
I found these Dainolite Squash Globus Pendants at a better price but would this enough light over the island with 2-3 of these? Each fixture takes 3 halogen bulbs
3) Something like this this smoke cafe glass pendant from RH but again not sure this is enough light? Kitchen island will be primary prep zone and needs decent task lighting.
