FLORESVILLE â The Lady Antlers stretched their win streak to three games by winning both first day outings on Thursday at the Floresville Invitational Basketball Tournament.
Tivy â 6-4 after beating San Antonio schools Taft and Highlands â played itself into the Gold Bracket with both victories being decisive.
Taft fell 58-23 and Highlands was downed 61-31.
Against Taft, Desire Alvarado was high-point with 14. Leila Rodriguez had 11.
More points dropped in were by Antonella Brown (7), Kyra Wheatfall (6), Syrie Nicolas (6), Lani Kincaid (5), Karlynn Way (4), Brynn Lidiak (2), Emma Schumacher (2), and Victoria Way (1).
Schumacher facilitated the offense with five assists and deflected four passes when on defense. Rodriguez and Victoria Way stole three balls apiece. Wheatfall also handed out five assists, had five rebounds, and four deflected passes. Nicolas was another five-rebounder and Lidiak blocked one shot.
In the win over Highlands three Lady Antlers were in double-digits when Alvarado had 11 points, and 10 each were scored by Brown and Nicolas.
Schumacher hit for nine points, Rodriguez eight, Lidiak seven, and the trio of Audrey Nelson, Addie Kincaid and Victoria Way all had two apiece.
