When the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft wrapped up after 20 rounds on Tuesday, Gettysburgâs Zach Ketterman hadnât heard his name called. He also wasnât picked up as an undrafted free agent, either, but that doesnât mean that his dream of playing professional baseball is over.
The longest championship drought in the South Penn League belongs to Littlestown, as the Dodgers havenât sat atop the mountain at the end of the playoffs since 1993. They havenât even played in the championship series since 2010.

Biglervilleâs lefty/righty combo on the hill of Eli Weigle and Joey Serafin combined to author a four-hit shutout as the Black Sox got by visiting New Oxford, 2-0, in the wild card round of the South Penn League playoffs on Tuesday night at Oakside Community Park.
Alexander Meckley, a 2021 Gettysburg High School graduate, was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 12th round of the 2024 Major League Baseball draft on Tuesday. Meckley, a right-handed pitcher, was the 350th overall pick.
