Earlier this year, when the High Limit Racing sprint car series essentially replaced the All-Star Circuit of Champions as the alternative to the World of Outlaws, opinions were mixed. Some praised the move, viewing this new series as a more forward-thinking, friendlier option for drivers versus the perceived stagnation and greed of the World Racing Group (Outlaws). Others scoffed and thought the splintering of sprint car racing’s greatest touring series into two would ruin the sport.

Now that we are nearing the end of High Limit’s inaugural season, it is time to assess who was right, who was wrong, and whether sprint car racing better off or worse now than it was before.
