John Paul “JP” “Tyke” Sheaffer, age 51, of Orrtanna, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2024. He was born April 17, 1973, in Gettysburg, to John E. and the late Janet M. (Cottrell) Sheaffer. John was a machine operator for UTZ Quality Foods in Hanover.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 262, Biglerville, and the McSherrystown Home Association. JP loved spending time with his daughter, was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, enjoyed sprint car racing and loved to try to make people laugh.
