Pursuant to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the FDIC requires equal access to all programs and activities conducted by the FDIC to individuals with disabilities comparable to those who do not have disabilities, as codified in 12 Code of Federal Regulations Part 352, Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability.
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires all electronic and information technology purchased, developed, maintained, or used by federal agencies to be readily accessible to individuals with disabilities. The Section 508 standards are the technical requirements and criteria used to measure conformance with this law. The Architectural Barriers Act requires that buildings and facilities that were built, designed, constructed, altered, leased or financed with Federal funds, by or on behalf of the United States, after August 12, 1968, be accessible to individuals with physical disabilities.
