This is the moment a brazen car 'hacker' swiped a hi-tech SUV from its unsuspecting owner's driveway in less than 10 seconds.
Ring doorbell footage shows the owner of a Nissan X-Trail N-Trek SUV, which costs around £43,500, leaving his vehicle to unlock a gate at his home in Sheffield.
But the driver is unaware that thieves have just pulled up behind him in a red Citroen hatchback.
Oblivious to the fact the men have stealthily snuck up on him, one of the alleged burglars tip-toes his way into the driver's seat.
He manages to speed off in the electric vehicle as the helpless owner watches on from the middle of the road.
The victim had only left sight of his vehicle for a mere ten seconds, as he entered his backyard to open the gate so he could park his car.
The theft is feared to be the latest in a worrying spate of 'car hacking' attacks across Britain.
The owner of the grey Nissan left sight of his car for no more than seconds as he attempted to unlock his back gate
Unbeknownst to the owner, a thief had exited another car and stealthly made his way inside the Nissan SUV
Despite the best attempts of the owners, who hurled himself in front of the vehicle, the thieves were able to speed away down an adjacent street
The Citroen used in the getaway was later recovered in Ruchmond Park Grove, Sheffield, shortly after 3.30pm on December 22.
The stolen Nissan car is matte grey with black side steps, black grill and black wheels.
It is not yet clear how the thieves pulled off the heist. In recent months, experts have highlighted thefts where vehicles have been stolen using relay equipment that unlocks the car and starts the engine.
One theft was reported in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, last month.
There was a separate incident in Birmingham in which the same trick was believed to have been used.
MailOnline has contacted South Yorkshire Police for comment.
