Who is and isn't following Meghan Markle's Instagram? Princess Eugenie, Patrick J Adams and Oprah are just some of Duchess' pals that have snubbed her on the app

It has marked more than a week since Meghan Markle rejoined Instagram after she wiped her social media accounts in 2018 - a couple of months before marrying Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex, who resides in Montecito, shocked fans when she posted a reel, filmed by her husband, running across a Californian beach, before writing '2025' in the sand and teasing people that a new project was coming soon.

Following her comeback, the mother-of-two, 43, who is not following anyone on the app, has been regularly posting to her account, as well as dropping a trailer for her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. She also shared a heartfelt message about losing her beloved rescue pup, Guy, on Tuesday.

Although the account, featuring the simple handle @meghan, was first created in June 2022, it had no bio information and only included a profile picture of pink dahlias up until New Year's Day, when the mother-of-two revealed it was indeed hers.

Meghan's Instagram has gained a lot of traction, skyrocketing to more than an impressive 1.5 million followers. She brandished a verified blue tick just one day after setting it up.

But who has decided to welcome the Duchess back online?

FEMAIL takes a look at celebrities who have chosen to hit follow and others who have snubbed the Duchess.

ROYAL CONNECTIONS

It's no secret that Princess Eugenie has stayed close with Harry and Meghan, even after they flew across the pond and departed the Royal Family.

This was echoed in the Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, where she recalled going on a night out with Princess in Toronto.

The Sussexes revealed how they went incognito, sporting 'borrowed' costumes, with Eugenie, Jack, and Meghan's close friend Markus Anderson.

Eugenie has also posted about Meghan on her Instagram, wishing her a Happy Birthday on her 40th and congratulating her and Harry when Lilibet was born in 2021.

It's said that their friendship even predates Meghan dating Harry, as she is believed to have met the Princess through their mutual friend, Misha Nonoo.

However, Prince Andrew's daughter does not follow Meghan on Instagram and neither does her mother, Sarah Ferguson

Misha invited the Sussexes, Eugenie and Jack to her lavish Rome wedding in the summer of 2019.

And although Misha does indeed follow Eugenie on the platform, she appears to have snubbed Meghan.

JAM FRIENDS

Last year, Meghan slow launched her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard and sent jam jars out to a select few pals, including A-listers like Tracee Ellis Ross.

Despite posting about the sought-after jar at the time, Tracee does not follow Meghan on Instagram.

Although it is not immediately clear how Meghan and Tracee became friends, the pair also attended one of Beyoncé's LA concerts in 2023, although they were not pictured together at the event.

NEIGHBOURS

The Sussexes are also neighbours with Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and the couples have become friends in recent years.

The pair were reportedly among the guests invited to the third birthday party for the Duke and Duchess' daughter Princess Lilibet at their £20m mansion in the swanky Californian enclave favoured by many A-list stars.

Their friendship was further highlighted in 2023 when Harry and Meghan attended the 'Fireworks' concert in Las Vegas sitting in VIP seats alongside Celine Dion.

It was revealed the Duke had secured the talents of his neighbour Katy to sing at the opening night of his Invictus Games in 2025.

However despite all this, Meghan is not one of the 797 people she has chosen to follow on the social media platform.

Meghan's stylist, Jamie Mizrahi, was hired to ensure her wardrobe lined up with American Riviera Orchard.

She also lives in Montecito and has a long-term working relationship with Meghan's neighbour Katy Perry, however, the pair do not follow each other on Instagram.

SUITS CAST

When the Duchess starred on Suits, she seemingly became close with some of her co-stars.

She played Rachel Zane and had a relationship with Patrick J Adams' character, Mike Ross, meaning the pair were pals during the series.

But Patrick does not follow Meghan, even after getting a 'lovely text' from her when she heard about the news of his new podcast, Sidebar: A Suits Watch Podcast.

He co-hosts the talk show with Sarah Rafferty, who is also not connected with Meghan on the app despite working on set with her.

Sarah previously described the cast as a 'family', bur Gina Torres, who played Jessica Pearson, claimed that some ex-castmates simply 'don't have her number'.

But Gina has also not followed her, despite the three all connecting with each other on the app.

It is perhaps not surprising that Jessica Mulroney decided to snub Meghan, subtly proving that their friendship is indeed over following rumours of a 'feud'.

The Canadian stylist befriended Meghan while she was living in Toronto and filming Suits.

Meghan and Jessica have never spoken publicly about their seeming fallout - but the Sussexes have appeared to snub Jessica on a number of occasions.

As well as attending Meghan's lavish New York baby shower in 2019, Jessica - who is married to Ben Mulroney, son of the former Canadian PM - joined the couple on their royal tour of Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Tonga and is also said to have played an 'influential' role in Megxit.

Over the past few years, whispers of a rift between the two women have been swirling - as the Duchess appeared to distance herself from her former BFF after Jessica was caught up in a 'white privilege' race row with blogger Sasha Exeter.

Jessica is said to have 'taken offence' to a 'generic call to action' post Sasha had shared about the Black Lives Matter movement.

Since, Meghan seems to have kept a distance from her former pal - with no mention of her in Harry's book Spare or the couple's 2022 Netflix documentary.

The lack of friendship between the pair is starkly different to how they once were -Meghan raved about her best friend on her defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, and her sons and daughter appeared alongside Princess Charlotte and Prince George as page boys and flower girls at the wedding.

Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne met Meghan while she was starring in Suits in 2014 and then became her business adviser and helped obtain sponsorship and brand deals.

The pair were close until Meghan dismissed Gina's concerns about Windsor life.

She wrote in the Daily Mail: 'I doubted whether Meghan would be able to sustain the unrelenting pressure of being Harry's girlfriend, let alone – wonder of wonders – his wife.

'Save it,' she said, in a steely manner I had not noticed before. 'I don't wanna hear it... this is a positive time in my life.

'I didn't know it then, but it was the beginning of the end of our friendship and professional relationship.'

Gina only follows 99 people on Instagram and Meghan, unsurprisingly, is not one of them.

Oprah has been seen as one of Meghan's closest allies over the years, with the pair reuniting at the talkshow host's bookclub in September last year.

Oprah also attended Meghan and Harry's wedding in 2018, along with gifting Archie, a library of books when he was born.

But it seems Oprah has the same vision as Meghan, as she only follows three accounts; Oprah's book club, Oprah daily and the Oprah Winfrey network.

There was also a time when Meghan Markle counted Priyanka Chopra among her closest friends

The Sussexes were snapped dining out at a sushi restaurant with Hollywood A-listers Cameron Diaz and her Benji Madden in 2023.

The pair were also thought to have been joined by Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, TV producer Brad Falchuk.

However, despite breaking bread together, Cameron and Gwyneth have not added Meghan to their following list. There was a time where Meghan counted Priyanka Chopra as one of her closest friends.

The stars first became friends after bonding at an Elle Women in Television event in January 2016. Meghan previously revealed they became friends easily.

However in February 2019, it was reported that Priyanka was 'crushed' when Meghan Markle didn't attend her wedding to Nick Jonas the year before.

Around this time, rumours of a fall-out between the two friends began to swirl after Priyanka was noticeably absent from Meghan's New York baby shower.

It perhaps shouldn't come as a surprise that Priyanka doesn't follow Meghan on Instagram.

However, she still supports the Duchess' former BFF Jessica Mulroney by following her on Instagram.

When Priyanka posted images from her wedding day on Instagram, Jessica left a gushing comment reading: 'Perfect dress choice. Love to the happy couple.'

Chef Adrian Lipscombe, from Texas, recently stuck up for her friend Meghan after an outlet critiqued her unreleased Netflix show.

Ahead of the series premiere, Vox Media-owned food publication Eater published an article titled 'I’m Already Bored by Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Cooking Series'.

Reacting to what she called a premature criticism of Meghan's show, Lipscombe defended the Duchess and her forthcoming show in an Instagram post.

However, despite sticking up for the Duchess and having chats about their daughters going through a 'princess' phase, Adrian doesn't follow Meghan's life on Instagram.

American actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry has become one of Harry and Meghan's closest friends since they moved to California but they first had contact before the couple's wedding in 2018.

Meghan revealed in the Sussexes' Netflix documentary that Perry sent her a letter expressing his sympathy over how she was estranged from her father Thomas.

She said in the programme: 'I'd never met him before. He said he was praying for me, and if I ever need anything, he would be there.'

But despite being counted as one of the pair's closest friends, Tyler does not follow Meghan, on Instagram and neither does Gayle King or Sophie Trudeau.

CBS presenter Gayle was one of the guests at Meghan's famously lavish baby shower in New York in 2019 and has regularly defended the couple on US television.

Meghan first became friendly with First Lady of Canada Sophie Trudeau in 2016, according to the biography Finding Freedom.

She even described Mrs Trudeau as 'a dear friend' and said she hosted the event at her home in Montecito earlier last year, adding that it was a chance to 'get the kids together, drink wine, swim.'

British Vogue editor Edward Enninful has previously spoken in support of Meghan, however, he also does not follow her.

But they were said to have feuded when she guest edited the magazine's September 2019 issue, according to Tom Bower's book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War between the Windsors'.

He claimed Meghan clashed with Enninful and his staff on her suggestions for the issue and trying to alter when it would be published in the US and Britain.

But two years later, Enninful then sent Meghan text messages of support during her television interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

However, in April 2023, he came under attack from the so-called 'Sussex Squad' of Meghan fans for writing a Time Magazine essay praising King Charles III.

'GHOSTED' FRIENDS

Actress Millie Mackintosh was reportedly ghosted by Meghan before her wedding to Prince Harry.

When Meghan first started putting down roots in the UK in 2016, the former Made in Chelsea star was said to be one of the Duchess' best friends.

Miss Mackintosh is said to have met Meghan shortly before the actress began dating Harry in July 2016, having been introduced by a mutual friend.

In February 2018, a royal insider told the Daily Mail that the reality star had been helping Meghan organise the wedding - and was even predicting she might be chosen as a bridesmaid. However, the star did not end up being given an invite.

Last May, Millie revealed that she felt 'snubbed' by Meghan and described her last message from the Duchess as being 'abrupt'.

Speaking on her Mumlemmas podcast, the Made In Chelsea star revealed she became pals with the Suits star after they met at a hotel event in Turkey, and even 'gave her all of her contacts,' when she moved to London.

Millie added that she and Meghan met up in the capital and she shared her favourite hotspots, but things changed when rumours swirled that she and Harry were dating.

She added that she sent Meghan a message offering her well-wishes, but was surprised to receive an 'abrupt' response.

She added: 'It's not like I messaged her asking if it was true, that was none of my business.

'What I read from that message was that she needed a bit of space, to cool off.

'I didn't message her again, but I did expect that we would stay in touch. I thought she'd message back and say, ''Sorry everything is a bit stressful right now.''

'I never heard from her again. I felt like she'd basically told me to f**k off in that message. So I did. And we haven't spoken since.'

And it seems Millie is in no rush to spark their friendship again, as she has not followed Meghan.

Presenter Lizzie Cundy also doesn't follow Meghan's new Instagram account.

She made friends with the Duchess at a pre-dinner for a charity event at the home of Phones 4U founder John Caudwell in 2013.

She told Grazia in 2021 that they met and 'got on like a house on fire instantly', adding 'Meghan was very friendly, great fun, with a big smile.'

Lizzie claimed Meghan told her she wanted an English boyfriend, and so she tried to set her up with footballer Ashley Cole, but 'she wasn't his type'.

Cundy said that when Meghan started dating Harry, she 'texted her to say how amazing it was and she did reply'.

However, she continued: 'But once the ring was on the finger, I soon realised she was off Twitter and that her number wasn't working. And that was it. I'm afraid both Piers Morgan and I got ghosted.'

Cundy added that she was not left upset by this, adding: 'Personally I don't think they've gone around things the right way, but if I saw her today, I'd give her a big hug. I'm happy that they're happy.'

Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan Markle dated chef Cory Vitiello for two years until their split in May 2016.

The couple are believed to have broken up just weeks before Meghan met Prince Harry, with the former-actress waxing lyrical about Cory on her blog The Tig.

But in April 2018, a source told the Daily Mail that Cory began to tire of Meghan's alleged 'prima donna-like behaviour'.

The pair do not follow each other on Instagram.

What's more, Cory follows Jessica and Ben Mulroney - suggesting that he still has a friendly relationship with them.

Cory has never publicly spoken about his relationship with Meghan - other than to say she is a 'great girl' and he was 'proud of her'.

WORK CONNECTIONS

Harry and Meghan signed a huge Spotify deal worth an estimated £18million in 2020, as part of the media empire they have hoped to build.

But last year it emerged that they are set to lose millions after the deal was pulled because they produced only one podcast series and a half-hour festive special in three years.

The news sparked further revelations, including an attack by Spotify executive and podcaster, Bill Simmons, who blasted the couple as 'f***ing grifters'.

Bill does not follow Meghan on Instagram, since she joined the platform.

NETFLIX SERIES STARS

Many of the Duchess' friends do follow her on Instagram and have previously spoken out in support of her new Netflix series, which some have starred in.

Mindy Kaling, one of the writers for The Office, appeared on Meghan's now-cancelled Spotify podcast, was an early recipient of American Riviera Orchard Jam and features on Meghan's new Netflix show.

She follows Meghan on Instagram, alongside Delfina Blaquier, wife to the Duke of Sussex's pal Nacho Figueras. She recently appeared on Polo, Harry's Netflix series.

Delfina even posted the Duchess' Instagram reel advertising the series on her story, writing: 'Congrats for the love and hard work you put into this project of yours! So grateful to be a part of it - I can't wait to see all you have to share.'

She got sent a jar of jam by Meghan which was marked number 10 out of 50.

Abigail Spencer, who played Dana Scott in Suits, was also seen tucking into some dishes in the trailer.

She too has shown her support for her ex-castmate by giving her a follow and gushed over  the former royal, posting both a reel to her Instagram page and writing a message to Meghan on her story.

'So elated for you @meghan! Happy New Year and 20twentythrive indeed! How lucky are we to get a glimpse into your hearts-song, magical-thoughtfulness and deliciously wonderful ways January 15th!

'Can't wait for all to fall in love with #WithLoveMeghan. Thanks for having me over and being truly the most wonderful friend a gal could get. Joy and bubbles abound. Here to learn. I'll get the salt.'

Abigail was gifted the sixth jar in Meghan's batch last year, revealing it in a photoshoot that showcased her reclining in the grass with the precious preserve.

Kelly McKee Zajfen is also set to appear on With Love, Meghan and also follows the Duchess on Instagram.

Kelly is the co-founder for the Alliance of Moms, an LA 'community of philanthropists who support pregnant and parenting teens in LA's foster care system.'

She was recently seen alongside her 'best friend' Meghan walking the red carpet for the LA Children's Hospital gala in October.

The Duchess stayed by Kelly's side in front of the cameras, appearing 'shy' and 'lost' without her husband Prince Harry, according to a body language expert

Kelly - who is included on the guestlist for the series - also posted a reel of the trailer and wrote: 'Can't wait for the world to see @meghan sprinkle her magic on #WithLove, Meghan. See you all on January 15th on Netflix.'

Literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh, who attended Oprah's book club meet up with the Duchess in September, is also going to be on the series and has given Meghan a follow on Instagram.

Tracy Robbins has also given Meghan a follow on Instagram and will join her other pals on the series.

The fashion designer and her husband Paramount boss Brian Robbins are friends with the Sussexes and invited them to the Bob Marley film premiere in Jamaica. Tracy even got sent some of Meghan's jam.

MEGHAN'S 'MOUTHPIECE'

The author of 'Finding Freedom', Omid Scobie caused quite a stir in 2023 when the Dutch version of his other book, 'Endgame' was released.

He named two senior royals in the book as 'alleged racists', referring to Meghan's interview with Oprah where she claimed they had been discussions about Archie's skin colour during her time in the Firm.

The author of 'Finding Freedom', Omid Scobi e caused quite a stir in 2023 when the Dutch version of his other book, 'Endgame' was released

He brushed off the naming of two royals as in the Dutch version of Endgame, denying he was responsible before coyly claiming their identities have been known 'for a long time'.

Omid has been called 'Meghan's mouthpiece', but said on X in advance of Endgame's release: 'I'm not Meg's pal'.

However, he has showed his support for the Duchess by following her on Instagram.

JAM FAMILY

One of the most high profile people to follow Meghan is 'momager' Kris Jenner.

She received the 13th jar of American Riviera Orchard and shared a snap of the pot nestled in a bowl of oranges alongside a handwritten letter, presumably from Meghan who previously worked as a calligrapher.

Kris was also seen posing with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, at a party in the summer of 2023.

Chrissy Teigen also follows the former royal on the platform. She met Meghan in 2007 when the pair worked as briefcase models on the TV game show Deal or No Deal.

John Legend's wife previously praised the former senior royal for being 'wonderful and so kind' by reaching out to her with a touching letter when she was going through a tough time.

It is thought that Chrissy and Meghan's friendship has grown since she and Prince Harry relocated to California and she was given one of her special jars of jam.

Heather Dorak, Janina Gavankar and Garcelle Beauvais are also some of the 'jamfluencers' who follow Meghan.

Heather originates from Texas but is also now based around the corner from the Duchess in LA.

She and Kelly were the two close pals chosen to join Meghan on a ski trip in March 2024 - and she has been the Duchess' devoted friend for many years.

Heather was also Markle's tenth 'Jamfluencer', posting a picture on Instagram of her two sons Noah and Cody having it on toast.

Janina Gavankar and Meghan have been friends for nearly 20 years after meeting when they were both starting out as actresses in the early 2000s.

She was also on Meghan's exclusive jam list and received a jar early last year.

Meghan has long been a fan of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and admitted her love for the show to the executive producer Andy Cohen on her podcast Archetypes.

One of the stars of the show, Garcelle Beauvais, was sent a jar of jam last year, echoing their closeness.

The pair crossed paths in November last year when they attended Variety's Power of Women.

Garcelle has previously opened up about her thoughts on Prince William and Kate and said it was 'shady' for the future King and Queen to miss their niece Lilibet's first birthday, which she celebrated at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor in 2022 during the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee.

HOLLYWOOD CONFIDANTS

Meghan's 'hippie' hairdresser Kadi Lee, and her makeup-artist, Daniel Lee, also follow the Duchess on Instagram.

In November, Meghan invested in the company's new hair wellness range and said: 'I am so proud to invest in [Kadi] as a friend and as a female founder.'

The former Suits actress has become a regular customer at the Highbrow Hippie since getting her hair coloured there in May 2023.

Kadi also hinted that Meghan goes to the salon for regular gloss treatments to maintain her hair's health.

Meghan's make-up artist Daniel Martin, who is often described as the mother-of-two's best friend, also featured in the trailer for the Duchess' new programme.

Daniel is believed to have known Meghan for over a decade, having met her while the former actress worked on Suits.

The pair then kept in touch and while working on her former blog The Tig, Meghan asked Daniel to give her a helping hand.

He has remained in contact with the Duchess throughout her life in the royal family and was by Meghan's side on her wedding day as he perfected her make-up.

Meghan's longtime friend Serena Williams has also given Meghan a follow on her Instagram.

She met the tennis champion at a 2010 Super Bowl party before featuring her on her old blog, The Tig.

Serena has featured on her Archetypes podcast and attended Harry and Meghan's wedding and baby shower for Archie.

On Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex posted a video about her rescue dog Guy passing away.

The heartfelt post was accompanied with a tear-jerking video of their time together over the years.

She thanked Dr Noel Fitzpatrick, who stars on Channel 4's 'Supervet' for being the only doctor who believed Guy would walk again after experiencing a 'terrible accident'.

The former working royal added that she will 'always be grateful' to the Supervet and his team, and it seems the support goes both ways, as Dr Noel has given Meghan a follow.

Noel, renowned for his bionic surgery techniques, has previously described Harry and Meghan as 'wonderful people' and was later invited to the couple's wedding in May 2018, but left early as he felt he didn't know anyone there.
