Daryush Ashjari has taken on chief technology officer responsibilities for Asia-Pacific and Japan at Nutanix, expanding his existing role as vice president of solution engineering for the region.

His expanded responsibilities include leading engineering and technical operations, while developing innovative solutions for hybrid multicloud requirements.

The technology veteran will also spearhead c-level engagements across the region.

He currently leads a team of engineers across Asia-Pacific and Japan, directing the company's technical and solution development work with corporate and government clients.

The appointment builds on his two-year tenure as vice president of solution engineering for the region.

"I have a real passion for technology and business transformation, particularly the role hybrid multicloud plays in overcoming the most pressing technological challenges", Ashjari, who is based in Sydney, said.

"From AI adoption and future-proofing, through to the rapid uptake of cloud-native applications, hybrid multicloud is increasingly playing a central role in IT strategies", Ashjari added.

Ashjari brings 38 years of industry experience to the role, having worked at major technology firms including IBM, Novell, Cisco, Citrix, EMC and McAfee.

His technical credentials include qualifications in electrical, electronic and computer science engineering, alongside multiple industry certifications.

He is also a certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner.
