AVOCA — The shooting death of a man early Saturday morning in Avoca has been ruled a homicide.
Robert Solo, 67, died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office.
Police responded to the shooting around 4 a.m. Saturday at a residence on the 800 block of Main Street near Hawthorne Street.
An autopsy determined Solo died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death was a homicide, authorities said.
“This investigation remains active. More information will be released when possible without jeopardizing the case. Police have determined that this incident was not random, and the public is not at risk,” the district attorneys office news release said.
