What is the WIC Program?

WIC is a federally funded Supplemental Nutrition, Education, and Referral Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

Program Goal and Eligibility Criteria

WIC provides many benefits to pregnant women, breastfeeding moms and babies, moms with a baby younger than six months, as well as infants and children who are younger than five years old including foster children, children living with caretakers such as dad, grandparents or other family members.

Applicants must meet guidelines for income and residence. Those who receive Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) automatically qualify.

Clinics

WIC services can now be provided in-person at one of our clinics or over the phone. Cayuga County WIC also offers online nutrition education appointments to eligible families; ask your WIC nutritionist for details!

Breastfeeding
