Conveniently located in Sultanahmet. Rooms are being cleaned every day. Free cookies, tea and fruit. Hotel staff is friendly, attentive, helpful, caring and watching out for you in every possible way (also that you won’t get scammed by taxi drivers). Also seeking solutions when a problem appears. They made me feel safe and welcomed, also helped to organise my solo trip, so didn’t have to look up everything. Been to many hotels, but such staff is a a rare gem.

Our stay at this hotel was an unforgettable experience. Perfectly located in the heart of the old district, right by the main square and nestled between the city's iconic mosques, it offered not only comfort but also a truly authentic atmosphere. The charming street is lined with cozy bars and restaurants, full of life and local flavor. At times, the narrow road would get briefly blocked by taxis or minibuses, but it only added to the local charm. Breakfast was a highlight — wonderfully varied, with a wide range of hot and cold dishes available. You could even order items individually, such as a freshly made omelette. There was a generous selection of pastries, cakes, and sweet treats. What made it truly special was the location: served on the top floor with direct elevator access, it offered breathtaking views of the Blue Mosque’s dome on one side and the bay on the other. A breakfast with a view like that always tastes better. The service deserves the highest praise. Mr. Muhammed and Mr. Ramazan were incredibly kind and helpful, offering advice on where to go and how to get there. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and safe. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire hotel team — it was a true pleasure to be your guests.

Blue Mosque

Constructed between 1609 and 1616, the striking Sultan Ahmed Mosque – or ‘Blue Mosque’ – is still a place of worship today. With no war victories to fund it, this opulent structure had to be paid for straight from the treasury – angering the Ottoman legal scholars of the time! Non-Muslim visitors are encouraged to visit, but should be respectful of the strict dress code.

    One of the most sought after architectural wonders. It’s free. But dress appropriately. No bare shoulders, no bare knees and women need a scarf to cover their heads. Best to go prepared but you will also need given disposable covers at the entrance.

    There are many many well dressed VERY friendly and helpful men willing to show you around, avoid them, do not talk to them! They are all trying to sell you something. They can get aggressive if you engage them and the try to leave, best to avoid them and keep walking.

    As a Lego enthusiast, my visit to the Blue Mosque in Istanbul was an experience filled with admiration and inspiration. The architectural grandeur and intricate design of the mosque immediately sparked ideas of how such a masterpiece could be recreated in Lego form. The Blue Mosque, with its cascading domes and six slender minarets, presents a fascinating challenge from a Lego-building perspective. The symmetry and balance in its design, a hallmark of Islamic architecture, would require careful planning and a keen eye for detail to replicate using Lego bricks. The mosque's exterior, characterized by its harmonious proportions and majestic curves, would be an exciting and rewarding project to undertake, demanding the use of various shapes and sizes of Lego pieces. Inside, the mosque's vast interior, dominated by the large central dome, is adorned with thousands of blue Iznik tiles. Capturing the essence of this intricate tile work in Lego would be a remarkable feat.     Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. This is the first time I entered inside Blue Mosque. It was 28 July 2023, Friday, we went inside Blue mosque before Jummah Prayer. We performed Jummah prayer and felt very blessed.

    Just on the edge of the Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque areas, which was represented in the price. We had an excellent welcome and continued relationship with the staff, which continued throughout our stay. The hotel and room did not reflect the run down nature of the surrounding area, but should not put anyone off. The room was clean and modern. From here we did a nice "little" 7km walk around Istanbul.

    The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the main tourist attractions in the historic center of Istanbul. A short stroll takes you to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, and more. The area is quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and noise. The view from my room overlooked a beautiful garden and offered an open, unobstructed view of the mosque on the other side.

    Emi and the team at Menar were incredibly friendly and efficient. They were always more than happy to get you a hot drink and give any recommendations and advice about Sultanahmet and Istanbul. The hotel was in an excellent location and only a short walk to the main attractions (Blue Mosque etc.) and plenty of restaurants. The room, while a little shabby in places, was super clean and had a fantastic view of the ocean. Shower pressure was good too.

    We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The location is excellent—only a 5-minute walk to both the Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosque. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and have everything you need. Manager Mehmet was incredibly attentive and made us feel so welcome. The cleaning lady was also lovely and kept everything spotless. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Istanbul!

    Located in Fatih, this is a perfect spot if you want to explore the old city of Istanbul, with Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, the Cisterns and Topkapi Palace all nearby. The hotel has great facilities including a pool, gym and sauna. Staff are friendly and our room was particularly comfortable especially the large bed and great shower.

    Amazing hotel just in the heart of Istanbul! 5 min walk till Ayasofia Camii and Blue Mosque. I can not imagine better location. No tram noise but very close to tram station (7 min). Absolutely gorgeous and kind owner of the hotel who tries his best for every guest! Nice guys at reception and manager, feeling like second home !! Also very nice breakfast with wide choose: omelette, eggs, yogurts, fruits, cakes and so on. I indeed recommend this hotel and thanks again to everyone for beautiful memories !!

    Hotel Me by Mula was one of the best hotels I have ever been to. Beautiful design, clean premises and very friendly helpful staff. When coming back to Istanbul I will stay at Mula for sure. Location was also perfect, very close to the famous Blue Mosque and aya Sofia.
