MORRICE — It was a sweet repeat for Emma Valentine, who captured her second straight MHSAA Lower Peninsula Division 4 state championship in the high jump June 4 at Hudsonville.
MARION, Ind. — Two area high school track and field seniors placed at Saturday’s Midwest Meet of Champions at Indiana Wesleyan University.
HUDSONVILLE — Senior Emma Valentine of Morrice repeated as the Division 4 girls state high jump champion Saturday at the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Track and Field Finals at Hudsonville, placing first with a height of five feet, six inches.
LANSING — Emma Valentine of Morrice set a new school record of 5 feet, 6 inches while placing first at Tuesday’s Greater Lansing Honor Roll Meet of Champions at Waverly High School.
CLARE — It was a school record-setting day during Saturday’s MITCA Division 3 Team State Finals boys track and field meet.
DURAND — The Corunna girls soccer team captured its first win of the season Wednesday with a 2-1 first-round Division 3 district tournament victory over Durand.

BATH — A muggy May afternoon turned rainy as it slipped into evening, but the mild precipitation surely didn’t dampen the spirits of the 16 area athletes who punched their tickets to the MSHAA Division 3 state track and field finals via a regional meet Thursday.
