Walker Ranch Loop is a fantastic hiking and mountain biking trail through Walker Ranch Park and a portion of El Dorado Canyon State Park. The loop can be done in either direction. This hike can be completed year round, though it can be covered in snow after a snowfall. Depending on the time of year, there are creeks and ponds for water.
From either Cragmoor or Shanahan at Lehgh trailheads, rise steadily up through open ponderosa pine forest on the North Fork Shanahan trail heading west. The Chautauqua Trail takes you through the meadow just below the famous Flatiron formations. This route can be hiked as a standalone route as an out-and-back. It is also often used as a jumping-off point to many other popular hikes in the park, such as the Flatirons and Royal Arch. This is a great moderately challenging loop with excellent views throughout. The trail is steep but generally well-shaded through the Flatirons. Most of it consists of single-track trail, except for a brief stretch along an old roadbed near the top of Gregory Canyon Trail. There are rocky steps on both the Flagstaff and Gregory Canyon portions of the trail.

Royal Arch Trail
Incredible trail. The incline is so serious in the beginning. Rewarding and varied views
Mount Sanitas, East Ridge, and Sanitas Valley Loop
Some icy spots near the top, didn’t use spikes and was fine. Parking lot was full on Saturday morning so we parked on the street.
Conditions: Icy
Not a pro hiker but i was able to do this comfortably with breaks as I was adjusting to the elevation from the east coast
Definitely go clockwise on the trail so you are going up the icy staircase. For sure bring your micro spikes as parts of the trail are very icy
