Bring shoes or boots with good grip. Lots of scrambling. Also, I used trekking poles which were very effective but I had to switch between using them and using my hands on rocks on the downhill climb. A great hike, but decently crowded. Most were using very good trail manners though. Hiked it as a birthday present to myself
A great, challenging trail! We arrived at 8:30 & there were still plenty of parking spaces available. The trail wasn’t terribly busy on the way up however coming down it was a little congested. Highly recommend, it’s short but steep so a good quick workout. Don’t waste your time going to Bobby’s rock.
A stunning morning hike, totally worth it. It’s not as hard, as long as you’re fit and used to hiking (plus good weather) - this is just gorgeous Highly recommended. I’ve done it at around 6.30am before kicking off a working day - was definitely a highlight!
Beautiful hike! It is moderately easy, and not as difficult as I was expecting. In the scenario that you loose footing, there is not a lot of grace. At a medium pace it took me 2hrs round trip. I wouldn’t do this hike in a 100 degree heat. Parking lot was very full at 0900 so I recommend getting there before 0900. Bring water too!
Stunning hike - not as difficult as everyone says. If you’re fit and hike often, this won’t be difficult. The whole hike would have definitely taken less time if I went alone, but I was with others and had to stop for breaks. Definitely worth it… a beautiful 630am hike before kicking off a working day
Very beautiful hike. The first 1/3 is traditional trail and the rest up is essentially scrambling which is not my favorite but my husband loved it! Definitely a hike worth doing while in Phoenix. And don’t be deceived, the weather is amazing but bring water
