Trail reviews for Grand Teton National Park

Not an official trail after Holly Lake. Class 2-3 STEEP scramble to the summit of Mount Woodring. Has some exposure. Good scrambling experience needed after Paintbrush Canyon and Holly Lake. Amazing views of the north end of Grand Teton National Park from the summit.

5 nights - 6 Days backpacking trip Beginning of July 2024 Challenging due to the conditions(snow, ice, hail, rain, wind) although extremely rewarding and the views were breathtaking. If you ever have the incredible opportunity to experience the Grand Tetons definitely say yes

Amazing views of Grand Teton. Nice shaded hike and not too difficult for the first 3 miles. The last push was a pretty tough scramble and easy to get lost. Make sure to stay to the right as you come to the top or you can miss the lake. We took a plunge in the lake which is very cold but felt amazing!

Lake Solitude was on my must see list in the park, but I debated whether to do the Cascade there and back trail or the loop trail. I’m glad I opted for the loop. The lake itself was fine, but the views from both side of the Paintbrush divide and then the descent following the lake were the best parts (going counterclockwise). I would recommend doing paintbrush canyon first, for the view facing Grand Teton after the lake are a must see as you hike down the canyon. While I saw reports of long stretches of the trail covered in snow from the previous week, it has all melted as of October 1st when I hiked it. Saw lots of Pika, 1 moose and 1 mule deer - and black bear with cubs were reported by people behind and ahead of us. Animal sights were between Jenny Lake and the fork on Cascade side.
