Original recipe (1X) yields 24 servings 1 cup shortening ½ cup white sugar 1 ½ cups brown sugar, divided 3 eggs, whites and yolks separated 1 tablespoon cold water 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking soda ⅛ teaspoon salt 1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
