Labneh is the Lebanese version of cream cheese. It's a lot tastier and lower in calories. Serve it on a plate, sprinkled with olive oil, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and mint. Or simply spread it like cream cheese on pita bread.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 32 servings

  • 16 cups plain yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste

  • ¼ cup olive oil

Directions

  1. Line a large colander with cheesecloth. Combine yogurt and salt in a bowl; pour into cheesecloth. Set colander over a bowl to catch liquid that drains off; drain in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

  2. Transfer drained mixture to a bowl; stir in olive oil. Store labneh in a covered container in the refrigerator.
