Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings 1 cup white sugar 2 tablespoons shortening ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg ½ teaspoon ground allspice ½ teaspoon salt 1 cup raisins 1 ½ cups water 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
