Wow these biscuits are amazing! I am eating them right now, and like them so much that I have to share with everyone! I made this recipe exactly as stated except for using butter in place of shortening. I don't have a flour/butter cutter thing, so I just use my hands until it is all combined and crumbly. I used a wide rim glass for cutting the biscuits. I made them to accompany beef stew, they are so good with just butter, my fiance said that I didn't even need to make beef stew, he would have just eaten the biscuits for dinner! I am excited to try them again with all kinds of flavors (cheese, garlic, herbs, etc!), with fruit, or make an egg and cheese sandwich! My fiance said they are better than any store bought biscuit he has ever had; I have to agree, and the are so easy to make! They are so light and fluffy! YUM! Thank you for this recipe!! :)

This is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! This was my first time making pot roast, I made it for my boyfriend, and when I told him I had never made pot roast before, he was shocked and said "this tastes like you have made it 100 times before!", he LOVED it! I used a smaller roast because it was only the two of us, it was a little over 2 1/2 pounds, so I only used one can of soup and about half a can of water, and cooked it for 4 hours on high. I dusted the roast in flour, pepper and garlic powder and browned it before putting it in the crockpot. I also sauteed mushrooms in the pan that I browned the meat in, to get all of those yummy browned bits, and added them when there was one hour to go! The meat was SO tender. I shredded it into big pieces and poured the gravy over it. The only problem was that it was very salty, but that is to be expected since the canned soup and the onion mix are both full of sodium. I served it with mashed potatoes and asparagus! Next time I will have bread too to sop up that delicious gravy!! I will DEFINITELY make this over and over again!!
