Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings

  • 1 cup soy sauce

  • ½ cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons mesquite flavored liquid smoke concentrate

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 pound beef eye of round sliced into 1/4 inch strips

Directions

  1. Mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, liquid smoke, garlic, paprika, and salt in a shallow glass baking dish. Lay beef strips in soy sauce mixture in a single layer. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.

  2. Arrange beef strips in a dehydrator and let dry to desired doneness, about 6 hours.

Tips

You can use hickory-smoked flavoring instead if you'd like.
