Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup white sugar

  • cup brown sugar

  • 1 pinch salt

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • cup butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • cup chocolate chips (Optional)

Directions

  1. Mix flour, white sugar, brown sugar, and salt together in a large bowl. Add milk, butter, and vanilla extract; stir with a wooden spoon until dough is combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

  2. Turn dough out on a large piece of plastic wrap; roll into a log and wrap up tightly. Freeze until firm, about 1 hour. Cut dough with a wet knife; it will be sticky.

Cook's Notes:

You can replace the whole milk with Lactaid(R) milk if you are lactose intolerant.

If you're a nut fan, add 1/3 cup of toasted walnuts for an extra crunch.

To make into cookies, drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until golden brown on the bottom, about 20 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
