Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 36 servings

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • ¾ cup white sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (Optional)

Directions

  1. Mix butter, milk, and vanilla extract together in a large bowl.

  2. Combine flour, brown sugar, white sugar, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl; slowly mix into butter mixture, beating on low speed with an electric mixer until dough is just combined.

  3. Fold chocolate chips and walnuts into dough; drop by rounded tablespoon onto waxed paper.

Recipe Tip

You can add more flour if the dough is too soft or sticky; add more milk if the dough is too stiff.
