This frosting recipe is great with Black Forest cake or any other cake. Pair this icing with cherry pie filling and your favorite chocolate cake for a delicious Black Forest cake.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

  • 3 cups heavy whipping cream

  • 4 ½ tablespoons white sugar

  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Beat together cream, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl with an electric mixer until stiff. Place in the refrigerator until set, about 15 minutes.

Cook’s Note

You can substitute any extract for vanilla. I always use clear vanilla extract with this recipe to make it nice and white.
